East end is the originator of the famous "Tyrone" sub. Their housed in a small building with several ladies working behind the counter. Walking in the door makes you feel like it's 1973. Unfortunately, in the post covid world, they've eliminated the few dine-in options so it's take out only. They have weird hours, the staff are always gossiping, and their pizza is not good (pre-made frozen crust). My father in-law lives this place so we stopped by on our way into town to pick up lunch. Called ahead to place our order. My first experience having a hoagie here. Wasn't sure what to expect since you just order by mild, medium or hot (spicy). I got the mild and it was tasty! The pickled onions was new for me but added void flavor. Definitely a must try if in Tyrone.

Growing up a few blocks away, Dad often opted for hoagies and sometimes treated me to cream soda pop. Interestingly enough, I didn't like pepper when I was young; but, the sweet onions worked well w/ the black pepper on the subs, and I never turned down the subs. They tasted good to me.
