I finally made the trip here after a friend recommended it nearly a year ago. I ordered the Winnie because its description sounded good and it reminded me of my family vacation home on Lake Winnipesaukee NH. This amazing sandwich (carefully prepared by a very friendly Coast Guard Veteran) consisted of delicious pastrami, savory thick-cut bacon, perfectly caramelized onions, topped with tomato and melted Swiss cheese, all between rye bread toasted to perfection! I will definitely go back and explore more of the menu!

Cable's is one of the best local places around. Krista really cares about providing interesting and delicious food and you'll never be disappointed.
She catered my and my now wife's wedding in September and she is the only person I felt like actually wanted our business and cared about making a really interesting menu that fit what we wanted. If I could give 10/5 I would. Whether you're going in for lunch or getting an event catered please give them your business. They deserve it.

What posters say is correct. Nice people, quality food and nice location. However not having to have a Facebook account to see what the Tuesday evening special is annoying. Due to this and being not a Facebook user we avoid the place. Our suggestion is get a real web page for customers to see what is up coming on Tuesdays. It is a 20 mile drive for us to come to Cables. Not interested in Facebook at any price.

An oasis when riding on the D&H Rail Trail today. On top of delicious food and having coconut water to replace my electrolytes, the owner was so friendly to chat with. I love restaurants and stores from the 1800s and early 1900s and this one definitely has that look and feel. They have kept the historical ambiance alive. Will be returning.

I sandwich shop right along the D&H Rail Trail is perfect. It's a great location with a waterfall behind it, places outside to sit and enjoy a rest and to chat up others. They filled my water bottles, and made me a delicious tuna sandwich, which I needed as I had been climbing all morning. Climbing is maybe overkill, but the grade from Scranton has been gaining all the time.

Neat little deli in small town Uniondale PA. Was taking a trail ride on the D&H trail and Cables’s is adjacent to the trail. Food was good, staff was friendly and welcoming. Thank you! I’m sure I will be back.
Cables catered our cocktail hour for our wedding and did an AMAZING job! Our guests commented all night about how incredible the charcuterie table was and how delicious the passed hors d’oeuvres were. Their catering staff was also fantastic, they were so kind and professional and even put together a boat of snacks to be sent to us while we did all of our photos. We are so pleased with our experience with Cables General Store and certainly recommend them!

We are hungry just thinking about this review! We hired Cables General Store to cater our wedding day. Krysta was great to work with and really helped to make this process easy. She also brought to the life the many ideas we had for apps, sauces and deserts that went along with our rustic forest theme. We went with a BBQ themed buffet style, which has pulled pork, jack fruits, mac and cheese, grilled mix veggies and cornbread. For our desert we had some of these best cupcakes and wedding cake we've ever had in our lives. Krysta and her team were excellent and so incredibly friendly. They worked really hard to cater to us on our wedding day. We would highly recommend!
