This is one of those classic neighborhood dives that you dream about finding if you're a person like me who loves an unassuming place to have an ice cold beer and amiable conversation with down-to-earth people. The back room of Billy Kay's is a showplace. The prow of a pirate ship complete with a naked lady mascot comprises the bar and murals of swashbucklers adorn the walls. The Man O' War Lounge is an absolute gem and it's just not being used at all. No one even goes in there except me. I take my beer back there every single time and try to pick up on what it must have been like to sit back there when there were waitresses bringing you French onion soup or hamburgers and french fries with a wink. It's a fantastic room and hopefully it will be tidied up and used again before this place fades like so many others. Stop in and check it out. It's singular.

If you love old school local bars, this is one of them! It was a diversified local regular crowd and everyone was super friendly and welcoming to us. Damie, the barmaid, was great!

Hopefully they’ll restore and utilize that space!
