They have a great selection in spite of supply shortages most likely due to covid 19, I never see them crowded. They move people really fast at checkout. Staff is always friendly. Its really convenient.

I decided to try curbside pickup so this review is for that This was my first time doing a curbside pickup from anywhere and the process was amazingly easy! Samantha was my shopper and she let me know two items that were out of stock (which wasn't a big deal at all) and one that she substituted which I was fine with! I arrived at 6:30 and immediately someone came out after I called to let them know I was there. It took her no longer than 30 seconds to get all of my groceries in my car- WAY quicker than I could have done! I definitely recommend doing curbside pickup and don't forget to tip the amazing shoppers for all of the work they do!

Did the curbside pickup for groceries, so this review is for that process. I ordered food online and the site automatically set the Verona store as the delivery site. That was fine; I don't live too far from there. On the day of pickup I was texted by Mary Ann, who identified herself as my 'personal shopper'. She contacted me a few times thereafter to verify items, suggest alternatives when needed, and to make sure I had no issue with filet mignon steaks larger than normal (Larger filets? Bring it!). She also offered the opportunity to add items I might have not thought of earlier. My daughter had to pick up for me as I was in post-covid recovery (hence my online order). That was no issue, and she informed me the pickup process was seamless. The products I got, including produce, were perfect. The bill was actually less than originally totalled, surprisingly. I guess those filets were on sale? LOL Well done, Mary Ann and Verona Giant Eagle. Thank you for getting it right!

Worst fucking giant eagle. If the vegetables aren't covered in mold, their dry products are opened sitting on the shelf. Such a shit hole.

We always feel so welcome here. We depend on this store. I always find fantastic meat deals in the low freezers in front of the meat section. (Unadvertised) I also find great pieces of filet and it's often better than Market District and always cheaper too. This is an excellent grocery store where everyone can shop!

Good Evening, I am a lifelong Giant Eagle customer. Among the reasons I shop exclusively at your stores, is that I have always had good experiences with your staff. They are usually very courteous and helpful. That brings me to the reason I am writing this comment. I had a terrible experience on Thursday afternoon (April 23). It was early afternoon, and this "experience" occurred at the Deli Counter. The employee in question (I later found out her name was Janet) was indescribably rude and unacceptable. I don't know if she was having a bad day, but she immediately presented an attitude of anger, frustration, impatience, and showed a profound lack of courtesy. She barked at me "Can I help you?" - I wish I could convey in this message the condescending tone, which would best be described as "bitchy." I asked for a pound of Genoa Salami. With the nastiest of tones, she asked "What brand sir?" (I didn't know there were multiple brands, I didn't know what they were called. So, I asked politely "Pardon me?" She repeated, in a raised voice and even nastier, "WHAT BRAND SIR?" The tone was so unbelievably condescending (indicative so obviously of someone who hates their job). I tried to remain composed, though she was already upsetting me. I asked, "What are my options. She quickly mumbled angrily, some unintelligible words, which I assume were brands of Genoa Salami.... She took no time to explain, she just miserably rattled off the words. Mind you, there was no line of people waiting that might have caused her lack of patience. There was zero hurry. By this point, she had made me feel stupid for not knowing what brand of Salami I wanted. Sadly, I lack her vast experience and storied career at the Deli Counter. Clearly, I needed to be educated on the finer nuances of Salami. Janet didn't seem at all interested in "Customer Service" - she appeared to me to be one of those people who just can't wait to be away from people and have her next smoke break, while complaining about how much she hates her dead end job. I digress, when I said "Give me the Italian one" - that was it for Janet. She repeated ever so much more NASTILY, "WHAT BRAND SIR?" Like I was a moron. By that point, I had definitely reached the end of my Janet rope. I replied, "Nevermind, I don't want anything from you. You're an asshole." (Maybe not my most diplomatic moment, but certainly a true statement.) WAIT, it gets better. After, I had told Janet my true feelings about her, I was prepared to let it go Janet had other ideas and promptly returned my comment, saying..... and I quote..... "Yeah, well you're an asshole too" She then went on a tirade (in front of anyone in shouting distance) about "You don't call me fucking names under your mask" Despite Janet's disappointing and unforgivable lack of originality in her retort (there were so many other things she could call me, but her lack of imagination or maybe vocabulary caused her to use my word!), her complete loss of composure made me laugh heartily under my protective mask. When I was able to stop laughing AT Janet and most certainly not WITH Janet... I had reconsidered "letting it go" I informed Janet that I wanted to see her manager. She glared at me in disgust, and made the call for a manager. I had a brief, polite conversation with the young man who answered the call. After explaining all of this to him (he was great by the way), I asked him how to file a formal complaint about Janet.... And here we are. Everything about Janet's behavior SCREAMS - I should never be allowed in the presence of customers again. RUDE, IMPATIENT, RUSHED, TOO BUSY TO BE BOTHERED...... I could go on, and on, and on... with additional descriptive adjectives, but I am certain that I have conveyed how utterly disturbing Janet's behavior was. I certainly wouldn't want her representing me to the public.

I write a food blog. One of these happened at your store: Getting a hard time from the last customer doesn’t justify taking it out on the next customer. I had several issues in grocery stores recently. I can understand some people being freaked out by our situations, but I believe some of these people have not had adequate training. At one store, I accidentally came in the wrong door. As a result, I didn’t realize it, and couldn’t immediately find the shopping carts. I flagged an employee that set me straight. He then pushed an empty cart right past me, adding it to the ones outside. He easily could have offered me the cart, but didn’t, and actually seemed offended when I called out; “Thanks for your help”. I asked a woman at the customer service counter if he was a manager. She kind of smiled and told me he wasn’t, but offered no other information. At a different grocery, I got in line to check out. The cashier told me to back up. She didn’t ask, didn’t add ‘please’, just told me to back up. The guy in front of me was standing in the center of the conveyer belt, rather than moving to the end where you would normally pay. I was pushing a shopping cart, so there was a considerable amount of space between us. When I mentioned this, she yelled out that I was supposed to be 6 feet away. I wasn’t on top of the guy, and with a 4-foot cart between us, I was probably at least the proper distance from him. Besides, if she had requested he move past the register, where the card reader and shelf are where you would commonly pay, I would have had the room to begin putting my groceries on the belt, since the guy in front of me had already been rung up. She never said a word to the man, with the exception of complaining about my encroaching on his space. The cashier in the next lane just smiled and waved me over. I checked out without incident. I know a few people at this store, and while I was waiting for my ride, I mentioned the confrontation to the woman up front at customer service. She attributed it to fear on the part of the cashier. She did apologize for the incident. The offending cashier just gave me some looks for the rest of the time I was inside the store. Since she was wearing a mask, I couldn’t read her face, but her eyes certainly weren’t kind. At another store, I finally remembered something. I had gotten a small discount a few weeks ago for bringing my own bags to the store. The 3 bags were ones I had gotten from a heatlh care rep and a home show. They were good bags, kind of heavy duty compared with regular store plastic bags. When I used them previously, the cashier showed me approval, telling me that the stores were trying to cut down on the paper and plastic bags. At this store, I got a nasty look when I pulled my bags out for the cashier. She asked if I wanted my plastic bags put into my cloth ones. I said that however she wanted to do it was fine. She gave me another look of distain, explaining that we weren’t supposed to bring bags from home. I tried to explain that just a few weeks ago, the stores and even the news were promoting the use of these bags. She informed me that bags from home might be contaminated and we weren’t supposed to be using them. 3 stores, 3 confrontations.

Just got home from another unpleasant experience. First, items were not stocked. I was using my perks so I wanted to stock up and I couldn't. I had a coupon for the spend $120, save $10. I usually don't spend that much but planned on it for the $10 and the perks discount. Becuase items were not stocked, I didn't make the $120. I asked abut an item. we are out we will have it tomorrow. Not helping me tonight! Get to the checkout and there are only two open for large purchases. Long lines at both. A worker was at the register next to me; I caught her eye and wanted to come to that line; she said this register isn't opening. Then the lady in my line who just checked out was having the cashier review items on her receipt, further backing things up. Two minutes after I was told the next register wasn't opening, boom it was open. And the guy behind me cut me off to be first at that register! I could have had my items on the belt ready to go, but now I'm waiting again! How long have you been in business? (I know because I have lived nearby since that store opened.) How can you not anticipate supply and demand for products, and not know how to schedule enough workers? Tomorrow I have to go out and buy what I could not buy tonight. I will NOT be in Giant Eagle. Maybe I will like the alternative better and won't be back to your store!

Good selection of popular food and drink items.

This store needs to be shut down. It has poor inventory which is not rotated and a staff that is complacent at best and often rude. The store is often dirty looking and aisles are not spaced well. Most prime times there is one check out lane open the others being self serve. Even in the check out lane be prepared to bag your own groceries. Just shut this store down. The location in Verona is such a difference it's amazing it's the same chain.

I like this Giant Eagle for one reason and one reason only. It makes you work. It doesn't make things easy for you. The inside is a rather small setup, but it gives you what it needs. But what I think is best about this place is the pharmacy. You see, most people don't want to walk inside and like to use the pharmacy drive thru. Well, not here. You will still need to park. Instead of a drive thru pharmacy, they have a walk up pharmacy. The window is on the sidewalk. So, if you are already walking to the window, just take the little extra walk and go inside. It won't hurt you.

Lindsay and Samantha at the customer service desk were phenomenally patient and willing to go out of their way to help me with a western union issue I had. They figured it out and I got me refund back thanks so much ladies
