I had the original burger. It was not bad. The taste was good enough. The meat looked odd to me though. It wasn’t a thick burger. It was a thin, greasy charred patty that had smooth brown spatula scrapings from the grill. Based on the meat used and the price being higher from inflation, I can’t really say anything great about it. A fluke, I don’t know.

The new food options are awful!

I try to always see the best in places but the food has to be great. Here it's okay. Service was great though! Got the meatball parmesan which was decent as well as the slice of pepperoni pizza. Both were worth the price but don't go out of your way for the food. If you're already in the casino it's an alright option. Pizza was super greasy. Have to say though if you were looking for hangover food then this might be great. Cool that you can watch the races from the tables though.

Heard a lot of buzz about the new food court at the Meadows Casino, so decided to give it a try. I can only speak on Mercato and it's pizza, but if it's any indication of what to expect, I think I'll pass on the rest. Ordered two squares of pizza, one was the 4 cheese and the other the Mercato Meat. The 4 cheese had clearly been sitting way too long on the warmer, the cheese was hard and brittle, what little cheese was on it to begin with. Peeling up the cheese revealed a leathery surface of the dough that indicates the pizza was way beyond its serving time. The Mercato Meat was in the same boat, just a dried up lukewarm thick square of bland dough. I get that this is a food court, but 10 bucks for two squares and a drink should at least get you something edible. Two stars only because the ladies working the counter were very cordial and very overwhelmed.

The Eatery at The Meadows is a new restaurant that is a set up but Fabio Viviani a chef some may know from Top Chef TV. There are four types of food and four areas you order at a counter and when you number is called you pick up your order. The cashier is suppose to give you your receipt with your order number but she neglected to give a few out and it caused some confusion. The pizza seemed to be popular and so did some of the sandwiches. The Chinese looked very good. I just had a Crispy Chicken sandwich that had jalapeño slaw, pickles and a sauce on a Brioshe roll. The chicken was OK. The slaw did not have much flavor, was expecting more due to the jalapeño. Had a side of fries which were good. The prices are very fair. If you want a quick lunch and to be one of the youngest in the restaurant, stop by.

Salad was old with brown lettuce. 12 chicken wings took like 15 minutes to make and there was no other orders pending.
