I was in town for the holidays visiting my in laws and let me tell you, this place is a diamond in the rough. The cocktails are on par with some of the better restaurants you'd find in LA or New York. The food is on point as well, some real proper bbq, but thats what I'd expect in PA. Service was great and it honestly feels like your over at grandma's for dinner with the atmosphere.

So I'm a cook and like to try new places seen these guys on doordash and figured why not let me tell you if your looking for bbq you definitely gotta try these guys. The Brisket sandwich is one of the best iv had in a long time the guda mac n cheese complimented the sandwich amazingly and if you like cornbread definitely get the cornbread here.

I’m not really sure why this restaurant garners such high praise; our experience wasn’t good. The staff were lovely, the house is beautiful but the food was terrible. The pork barbecue sandwich didn’t resemble any pulled pork I’ve had; it looked like barely warm moist pork mush and the chips accompanying it were hard and bitter tasting. The waitress however was very friendly but we will not return given the sub- standard food.

This place was so unique. A historic house made into a restaurant. Lil rooms made into intimate eating areas. The BBQ was fantastic.

It's hard for me to 5 star a restaraunt but this one has earned it. Amazing food and service. Best BBQ in the area.

They might grill but use liquid smoke and a terrible bbq seasoning. The chips are ok but very hard n salty. Ive used liquid smoke being a chef in many restraunts. I didn't barely eat any of my food

We were seated outside on the covered porch and were a little leery at first because it was chilly outside, but it ended up being a very pleasant atmosphere. Ribs are cooked nicely, the gumbo was far too spicy for our sidekick who appreciates moderate heat. Poutine appetizer was great, buffalo dip is good. Gouda mac and cheese is a standout. Sauces need a little work in our humble opinion. Wait staff was very attentive. All in all a very good experience.

0 stars for service - our server Gary clearly didn't want to serve us as a mixed race couple. We were polite, but he was cold, detached, and irritated at times. He was warm, friendly, and attentive to others who were not minorities. He smiled only after I paid the bill. But his last interaction with us was snapping and saying, "What? What do you need?"

To be clear, we made every effort to make Gary feel comfortable serving us. We tried to establish rapport, smile, and be friendly and understanding. However, what we received back was a hostile attitude. We were ignored, the service was slower, and we were treated rudely compared to the other customers (who were not minorities). This differential treatment was based on race and other protected characteristics. As an attorney, I believe that this potentially violates the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for public accommodations, within which restaurants open to the public fall into.

This restaurant, however, provides excellent food. We went to the restaurant one previous time and there was a different male server who was kind, courteous, and offered wonderful service. He had no problem serving us at all.

At minimum, we hope that the restaurant owner reads this review and re-educates Gary about what "hospitality" actually means and that all customers should be welcomed and treated with a standard of courtesy, respect, and service.
