Shorty’s Lunch in Washington, PA is one of those places that never needs an introduction if you’re from around here. It’s just a classic. We stopped in and had their famous hot dogs with everything on them along with french fries and gravy, and honestly, everything was delicious as usual. There is something about Shorty’s that just feels familiar and comforting. The food is always consistent, always good, and it’s the kind of place you keep coming back to over the years. No surprises, no gimmicks, just really good food that always hits the spot. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re anywhere near Washington. It’s a simple, no-frills kind of place, but that’s exactly what makes it so good.

I always loved the food here but apparently you should arrive after 11am during the week. I know the hours say 10am but driving by showed no signage on and not a soul to be seen inside. Sure I could walk in and see if everyone is just hiding and they forgot to turn on the signs, or I could save myself the trouble and keep driving. I opted to keep driving.

Super friendly staff! Went through the drive thru. Told her i’ve never been there before, she told me what they’re famous for (fries w/ gravy and hot dog) so i ordered that! One of the best hotdogs i’ve ever had, the flavor was super beefy and the dog snapped when i took a bite! The gravy was amazing too (i could drink it straight). Definitely will be coming back whenever i’m in washington.

Parking: There's plenty of parking unless it is a busy day.
Kid-friendliness: They are very kind and sweet to kids!! They have kid sized drinks!
Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps. It is flat to get right into the door.
