It is a nice pub to hang out with good service and great ambience. They are at a nice location and have big screens put out on the street in the evenings so people can watch the world cup games. Inside the pub they have hanged flags for countries of all the participating world cup soccer teams which gives a great spirit of the game. I totally enjoyed seating there and watching the Scotland as Morocco game while supporting Morocco.
Everything want a pub to be. Great atmosphere, great burger, pretty awesome people in an amazing little town!
A revisit, having been previously approximately 2 years ago.
Emma the bar hostess was excellent and very attentive.
My Guinness was allowed to settle and poured perfectly.
My chosen meal was also very good. Unfortunately at the time I attended there were only a few customers so the atmosphere was a little flat. None the less a good conversation was struck up which included all clients and Emma (Top class). All in all a very good experience and well worth the visit.
Great Wi-Fi as well, it reconnected immediately on my arrival, not bad after almost 2 years absence. 👍
Last night, my boyfriend and I visited Kildare’s Pub in West Chester and sat at the bar next to the bathroom. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. From the start, the female bartender had a rude attitude toward us. We ordered two Michelob beers, wings, and fries. Later, my boyfriend ordered a Guinness and another Michelob. Halfway through our meal, I said I wanted to step outside for a smoke, and my boyfriend came with me. We had only had about a quarter of our beers.
We were gone maybe 5–7 minutes. When we returned, she had thrown away our wings, fries, and drinks. I politely asked what happened, and she rudely said, “I thought you left.” I explained we hadn’t closed the tab and even left a jacket. I asked if she could replace the beers since we barely touched them and had paid. Instead, she got aggressive, saying we’d have to pay again.
My boyfriend asked for the check, and I said I wanted a manager. She threw the ticket at us. I went to the other side of the bar to ask the male bartender where the manager was. He kindly asked what happened, and after I explained, he offered to replace the beers.
Meanwhile, my boyfriend was talking with security, asking for the manager, when the female bartender left the bar and went outside to yell at him. My boyfriend is from Ukraine and doesn’t speak English fluently, but anyone can recognize hostility.
In the end, security told us to leave, even though we were the ones whose paid food and drinks were thrown away after only a few minutes outside.
The reason I’m giving one star is because of the female bartender. I actually liked the atmosphere, and the male bartender was friendly. It’s a shame they have aggressive staff like her. I’ve worked over 15 years in the restaurant industry and as a manager—this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

We came to check this place out after hearing about the chef on Bar Rescue. He had actually helped other bar chefs who were struggling and we wanted to try the food here. The bar atmosphere is very nice, and the service was excellent. However, we found the food to be nothing special, just ordinary bar food. We had the fish and chips, and it was not very good - we’ve had it at other Irish pubs (and also in England) where it was much better, and done in the more traditional style - this was not, just a plain piece of fried fish, nothing more than that - and the batter was nothing to write home about either. The portions were very small, and my husband left hungry, even after eating an appetizer, main course, a TINY dessert and two drinks. He doesn’t have a huge appetite either, it’s just that we received a very small piece of fish and what amounted to a handful of fries that was not worth the price for the amount of food you get. The main course plate was the size of an appetizer plate, and the appetizer plate was the size of a saucer. We joked that their bangers and mash probably consisted of one small sausage and a spoonful of potatoes on a small salad plate, lol. We couldn’t believe that we spent almost $100 there to walk away hungry and unsatisfied. We live in Philly and will just stick to the Irish pubs here, they are much better. We won’t be back to Kildare’s, unfortunately. It was very disappointing.

Been a regular here for quite a bit and all I can say is that their food is great, their drinks are even better, and they do not tolerate nonsense. I feel safe as a woman knowing they do not tolerate harassment, violence or drama period. They also have events running through out the week: trivia, cup pong & karaoke. (And 1/2 off drinks Thursdays from 9PM-11PM?)
That staff here is also extremely kind & caring— they want to make sure you’re not only having a good time, but a safe one as-well.

they really be out here banning their best customers on a whim, and certain bartenders serve their friends first instead of working their way from one side of the bar to the next.
Used to be the go to for the guys, got banned for no reason.

A place we really enjoy supporting. The food and drinks are consistently good, the staff is friendly, and the owners genuinely care about their customers and community! Highly recommend them!

Would not let me and my friend in even though we had valid state IDs. Started an argument with us and refused to scan our IDs claiming that he could “just tell by looking at them”. After he scanned our IDs and the scanner said okay, he still refused us entry and continued arguing with us. We just decided to leave because it was not worth it. After reading the reviews I want to also add that me and my friend are POC, which tracks with the other reviews noting discrimination. I would skip this one.

Used to be my favorite bar in West Chester until, around 12am December 6th I was inside the establishment conversing with other patrons, I dance with them and decide midway through i am uncomfortable and do not want to dance anymore, I tell them and go to leave but am surrounded by kildares bouncers, this is unacceptable for an establishment and i will never be coming back unless this is fixed.

We had a great time, food and drinks were great, place was clean and inviting, and the server/bartender was very attentive! We found out they also have a lot during the week events we want to check out too.
