Breakfast at the hotel is awful, no vegetables whatsoever no meat only bagels from a pack everything full of sugar. One day they did not have green tea put out when I asked if I can have more put out the response was no more. How difficult is it to have selection of 2 different teas at HOTEL BREAKFAST. Hotel is clean beds comfortable but the breakfast is shocking.
Musty corridors & my eyes were stinging from the dust sodden carpet. Breakfast is free but there wasn’t much on offer - a bagel and filtered coffee. Not even a boiled egg. The place wreaks. Try finding somewhere else to stay. The air conditioning was noisy. It’s old and tired.
Musty halls, loud in-room HVAC, tiny parking garage, pool closed, inedible breakfast. Lounge was 9 bottles and a bartender who can't pour basics off his own menu. Random broken things (coffee makers, lampshades...) . Really weak.
It was a great experience staying there when we are from out of town! Very clean and housekeeping is on top of everything! Front desk was super informational about what was in the area to do! We will be back many more times. Also very kid friendly.
First time visit, i will definitely be back!!! Staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly! The rooms are very clean! Breakfast was very good, lots of toppings for yogurt and oatmeal. Can't wait for my next visit.
The Hotel Warner has seen better days. It’s tired and smells like people smoked there in the 1960s. That being said, the room was decently appointed, and normally I would not have written a review. However, when you check in, they tell you that you have to request in advance for your room to be cleaned the next day. I didn’t really understand this and requested the next morning to have my room cleaned and it was too late. We were spending $300 a night and could not get service on our room. I felt like this was unacceptable and the hotel just seems like a rip off.
Room was very clean and location is great. A group of us all booked rooms for a friend’s local wedding and the process to book our room was somewhat archaic (can’t do it online) and they have zero flexibility regarding early check-ins. They had availability but would only let us in early for a rather sizable extra charge. Also, there were wedding gift bags we should have received and quite a few of us were not offered them at check-in. We found out about them later. These details may seem small but definitely left an impression.
I stayed at Hotel Warner with my teenage son. We were in town for the 2023 Penn Fusion Soccer tournament. Hotel Warner is nestled in the heart of adorable downtown West Chester. The grand staircase in the lobby and black-and-white oversized mural immediately remind you, you’re indeed staying in a theater turned boutique hotel - and if that’s not enough, warm butter lingers in the air thanks to the FREE popcorn in the lobby. The individual packed bags of the salty treat are a must-munch on a cold afternoon, at least my son thought so, after playing soccer in 27 degree weather. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant discount program is a bonus but the real perk is having staff at the front desk who were able to recommend a nice meal, that was only a block and change away. Also, my son has Celiac Disease and the 2 restaurants we visited, Barnaby’s and Sedona both offered SAFE GLUTEN FREE FOOD. Again, the location is everything. Once we parked in the garage across the street (yes Hotel Warner validated parking there) we didn’t need to drive anywhere. Food, culture, even a Rite-Aid is all within reach - not to mention the soccer fields were under 15 minutes away - one was just a 4 minute drive - score. And because it was a tournament weekend, my son took advantage of the hotel’s small gym and pool to workout and recover. The room was spotless and featured pillows that felt like clouds. The breakfast buffet, included with the stay - served hot coffee and even had almond milk on hand! Eggs, sausage, fruit, pastries, yogurt, cereal was the perfect start to my son’s game day (he loved the chocolate milk!) The hotel bar plays black and white movies and serves up tasty cocktails soccer moms will love. Snacks, water/soda and beer is available for purchase in the lobby too. Twizzlers anyone? This was hands down my favorite soccer trip thanks to Hotel Warner and we’ll be back. Also it’s a stone’s throw from Philly! So I highly recommend it to anyone in the city of brotherly love who needs a taste of the quaint and cozy ‘burbs.
Our first stay and we'll be back when in town. Stayed just one Friday night, executive level room, very large, nice and clean, comfy bed, pillows ok but we always bring our own, quiet, nice staff, nice included breakfast. Can park free very close by or $25 to park very close to lobby. More expensive than others close by but we're glad we paid it.
If you do not like the smell of cigar smoke do not stay there. The place reeked of smoke. It was disgusting and offensive. Also, there was no closet in the room. Not a single place to hang anything. That's a bit strange. And finally, I put something in the mini fridge at night and it was completely frozen in the morning. The sheets were scratchy. I will not stay there again. It is not worth the money.

We stayed at Hotel Warner over the Christmas break for its close proximity to Longwood Gardens. It is a historic hotel but the room was relatively spacious and it seemed like it had just been renovated (though the bright red decor in the room was not appealing to me). It wasn’t decorated much for Christmas but it served our purposes - there is a small bar and also, a free coffee station and popcorn from a popcorn machine in the lobby, which I thought was very nice. Parking is $25/night so we parked across the way at the public parking deck which was only $5, payable right at the hotel. There is a complimentary breakfast which was convenient. West Chester is an adorable quaint town with shopping and restaurants everywhere. My daughter and I loved it. We also had an excellent dinner at Teca which is right down the street. The town really comes to life at night!
My stay started with a homeless person yelling profanities in front of the hotel. My young son learned some very colorful language. During the stay I saw the same person wandering in the hotel. I paid for parking in there garage, however when I came back from a day trip there were no spots available. Advised the young man at the front who I had to pry from his phone with great disgust. In my third day I went to get some breakfast and they were out of orange juice, coffee, eggs and sausage so I figured I would have cereal. Out of milk. I was told they were busy this weekend and that’s why they ran low. I think management should take a bigger part in running this hotel. Sadly, since this is the only hotel in the city I swill be back. Hopefully they read this review.
It is a nice hotel - not totally cookie cutter, but fairly standard layout. The common areas offer nice places to gather - we visited with family for a funeral and the terraces were nice. The pool and gym are clean, but both are silly small. Make sure to negotiate price - our family ended paying rates that differed by as much as 30% depending upon who made the reservation (it was a funeral, so no one booked far in advance) - I don't think anyone received a bereavement fee. The $25 parking is a rip off unless there is some sort of huge event, I imagine. Also - ask about the total cost when you book - our $159 room cost us well over $200 after parking, fees, taxes, etc.
Parking is very difficult to navigate amidst the one way streets and street closures. It costs $25/day to park at the hotel garage. Check-in was a breeze& the gentleman at desk was very nice given my late night arrival. Hallway noise & noise from adjacent rooms is more than I expected. Room was clean & so was bathroom. Breakfast was exceptional! Lots of choices. Would recommend.
Booked this hotel 2 days ago and then tested positive for Covid today. We advised the hotel that our family has come down with COVID and asked to cancel the reservation. They refused. Since we have to pay for the hotel we are going to be riding out COVID at the hotel as it is far more comfortable than home. We let them know to take extra precautions for their guests and staff but they did not reply. Thought it would be good to warn others here. We will try our best to keep to our room and mask up if we leave.
