For many years I've had wonderful baked goods from Scozio's Bakery from the inside of a grocery store. Today I purchased apple and cherry Danish patries for lunch with my mother. These Danish were underbaked. But dry. Fillings were nearly tasteless, except sugar. I'm so disappointed. No longer making the drive to get them.

We have always gotten our special occasion cakes here. They have always been decorated beautifully and tasted amazing. Just recently, our kids got my retirement cake here. It was moist and tasted wonderful, but the decorating was disappointing. Icing colors were dark and the writing left much to be desired. Icing flowers weren't that great.They used to have a lady that wrote in calligraphy and the cakes were decorated so beautifully, that you didn't want to cut it!! They used to decorate with the most beautiful flowers and ask you what kind you wanted on the cake. We were disappointed with the decorated part...not the taste of the cake.

Whole double layer sheet cake with cherry filling was beautiful and the most delicious cake I ever tasted. It was decorated beautifully for vintage romantic theme and did not skimp on any details. It was the hit of the bridal shower. No other bakery could have matched the excellence of cake.

This is the only Giant Eagle Bakery that kept Scozio's Bakery and it is far better than Giant Eagles Bakery. I will. make the 11 mile trip one way just for the Bakery goods. Their icing is Scozio's old recipe and it is by far The Best around. It's not that sickening sweet buttercream. Giant Eagle uses that makes you sick and puts you into a sugar coma. Their cakes and bakery items including their Holiday Nut Rolls are so delish and like your Granny would make at home. Their fresh home made breads are so good also. Did I mention their Big Lady Locks(Cream Horns) are the best. They have a few bakery items that are made by Giant Eagle, so make sure to ask if its Scozio's recipe or G.E's.
