I don’t understand how this indian restaurant has such high ratings. We’ve visited a couple of times, hoping for improvement, but the food is consistently disappointing, except for the dosa, which is decent.
The samosas were clearly frozen, with undercooked, still-frozen filling. The masala gravy was burnt, dark, and tasted off. The buns were stale and unpleasant. To top it off, they serve food on paper plates, despite charging for full service. We paid for a proper dining experience, and this is what we get?
Despite the high ratings, we thought it might be a one-off, but every visit has been a letdown. Would not recommend.

Amazing Indian food and excellent service. We had Paneer Dosa, Cheese Pao Bhaji, Masala Chai and Cold Coffee. All came out so good. The owner is from Western part of India and hence the menu has a large selection from the delicacies of Gujarat and Mumbai region of India. An excellent option for those who love eating vegetarian food.

They serve excellent food — it truly tastes like homemade. I love buying food from here every week. The service is just as impressive: friendly people who talk to me like family. Their thalis are some of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time, and at this point, I’m addicted to their thalis and kadhi pakora — a must-try! Overall, it feels like a home away from home.

This is a really great find. The staff is extremely friendly, and accommodating. We ordered Dal Bhatti, a weekend item, on a weekday and they were super accommodating and agreed to make it. Turned out to be the best dal bhatti I have had in the US. Food is fresh and tasty and will really recommend to others. Will definitely come back for more- their thali’s looked good too.

My experience dining at Food Trail was highly disappointing. Service took time although the restaurant was empty except for the two of us. We had high hopes after reading the reviews but the dosa and the pav bhaji served were far from good.
Sweetness overload: Dosa, sambar, chutney, bhaji - everything was SWEET. I mean who adds sugar in dosa batter?!
Dosa batter: The consistency of the dosa was very concerning as it seemed like made from a store brought batter or something whipped up last minute using rice flour and suji. Dosa batter is traditionally made by soaking urad dal, rice & fenugreek seeds for several hours before grinding & fermenting them together. As a South Indian, I was offended by the dosa they gave me. This one goes in my worst 10 meals I have had so far.
As for the pav bhaji, the only thing that tasted close to okay was the pav bun. The bhaji was once again sweet and drenched with oil and ghee that it became a chore to eat.
The only saving grace was the sweet server lady. I'm really not sure if this was a one-off or this is how they generally prepare food. Very disappointed with their food given their highly priced menu.

I thought that the food was very good; I would order from there again. I had dal makhani, garlic naan, and steamed rice. The dal was spicy but very good, as were the rice and naan.

this was the worst food I have ever had in my life. the tikka masala was drowning in chili oil? the chicken was burnt. it tasted like something scraped from the bottom of a grease trap. the portion size alone for the amount you pay even if the food WAS good - is not worth it.
