One of the best restaurants we've been to in years. It reminded us of restaurants back home, Seattle. The craft cocktails were on point and the tapas were to die for. It's definitely worth a visit if you are in town. Highly recommend!!

Over it was nice. 6 wings for $16 is a bit much and they were really salty. They were big and crispy tho! The octopus was also very salty. I have been here multiple times and this time was a shock

My husband and I are travelling from France and we stopped to MVD for dinner.
We were so impressed with this restaurant: the location is beautiful, decorated with a lot of detail and care. The service was great and the food arrived very fast. What we’ve been mostly impressed with was the food: an absolute amazing experience, full of delicious ingredients and flavours we’ve tasted for the first time. If you are ever in the area, this place is a must try!

Fantastic tapas restaurant. Great cocktails and very friendly staff. Portions were generous for a tapas restaurant, and so tasty! Large plates are available for those who don’t like tapas. We will definitely return. The escargot was delish!

Service and food are always great. Servers are very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had on the menu. We really enjoy the Tapas menu. Everything we had was delicious. Have dined here a few times and have never been disappointed. Atmosphere also nice.

This hidden gem is a must try restaurant in Wilkes-Barre. The menu is a journey through innovative culinary creations.

It’s rare to find a place that combines such fresh ingredients with imaginative dishes and exceptional service. This restaurant deserves every one of its five stars and more. This is a dining experience you simply cannot miss!

So I am a lover of all dining experiences even if they are bad. U get to go out and not do the dishes.this place was perfect for me because I love to eat the way they serve. Small plates are amazing and u get to have a little of everything and then if u want more of something u just order more. Yes it’s expensive for a normal person in this area but that’s why this place is a treat. It’s only meant for people who prioritize good food or a special occasion. Trust this restaurant to give you great food and amazing service but make sure you tip accordingly (small plates are longer dining) because I’m sure they work hard to make this place the gem it is in almost the bad part of wb. The parking is fine just have to pay attention to where it is or get and uber and enjoy a craft cocktail or 5. This is a place that I would go to monthly if I can afford it but can’t so every 6 months is a good sacrifice on other restaurants for it

The food. The menus was crafted with care and thoughtfulness. I enjoyed every dish we tried. Service was friendly and fast. Wine was awesome and I got to meet Sal, an owner who fills your water and takes your dishes away. The best you can expect.

Dined at MVD yesterday for the first time. The meal and drinks were fabulous and in my opinion this is one of the best places to dine in the Wyoming Valley. Everything from the food and drinks to wait staff were excellent. Would definitely go there again!

This restaurant is a great place to bring the foodie in your life! The close tables make conversation a little difficult, but you get used to it while you’re sitting and might make a new friend or two.

Intimate evening that started off with MVD. Shared multiple things and loved each one. So impressed we called others to tell them we need to go as a group.
Recommended, enjoyed, can’t wait to try other things we literally had more room to eat!

MVD Restaurant and Bar, located on Parrish Street in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, is a tiny, fine dining establishment that specializes in small plate tapas. The food is locally sourced and unprocessed.

We arrived on time for our 7 p.m. reservations on a late-summer Saturday and were immediately seated. Mary, our very friendly and knowledgeable server, took our drink orders ( a Yards Brawler beer and a Merlot from Bordeaux) as we studied the menu.

Our first few plates arrived shortly afterward. First was the homemade, boursin-stuffed ravioli, and a sauce consisting of oil, tomato, basil, asparagus, tomato, and parmigiano. This was our best plate of the evening, with the ravioli served al dente, and the boursin oozing from the pasta.

A close second was the Queso Empanada filled with habanero cheese, chicken and bacon. The crust was very light, and the cheese was incredible. The potato and bacon croquettes with romesco sauce was also a delight.

The Remolacha was also very good, with organic roasted beets, feta cheese, greens, a hard boiled egg, and homemade caesar dressing. Also a treat was the Coreano, with thinly sliced Korean-style sirloin in a sweet and spicy gochujang/soy/sesame and garlic marinade. The beef was placed over white rice. As one would expect, the soy made the dish a bit salty, but the plate was an explosion of flavor and extremely delicious.

Our least favorite plate was the rosemary focaccia and burrata, with heirloom and organic cherry tomatoes, as well as Moldon salt and oil. The plate was very salty, and the oil just wasn’t to my liking. I ended up eating more of the fresh bread than anything else.

Rounding out our small meals were the mini hamburgers. The meat was very juicy and tasty. The burgers also included provolone, tomato, red onion, aioli on a brioche roll. The fries were also good, but very salty.

Finally, our dessert arrived. The Vahlrona chocolate cake came with a rich, gooey center, and served with a white chocolate ice cream  with a raspberry ice and blueberries. The cake was decadent and delightful. We also had an organic raspberry tart with homemade pastry cream and an apricot glaze. Both desserts had a dash of basil and was a nice sweet ending to our meal.

The small dining room was packed, which made conversation a bit challenging at times. Some of the plates were a bit salty, and the wait between plates toward the end of our dining experience was a mild nuisance. Overall, however, MVD is a refreshing venue and deserves a visit. The nine plates we had were just a fraction of what was offered, which included seafood, duck, and lamb choices as well. I believe the menu rotates, so every visit would no doubt result in a culinary adventure.
