This is a very unassuming place from the outside, but we decided to stop here for dinner and we're very glad that we did. Their burgers are probably the best we've ever had. The patties are extremely well seasoned and everything was just excellent.
The service was very friendly and the interior (especially the back room) is out cool.
We will absolutely be back and highly recommend this restaurant!
This is a bare bones meetup bar.
Not much for atmosphere but reasonably priced drinks and friendly staff.
This is our go to restaurant. We rarely make reservations and this restaurant's staff is always accommodating. I love the french dip sandwich. It is FILLED with mouth-watering tender beef. So much so, I take half home. When I have it for lunch the next day, it is still delicious. We go to a restaurant in Scranton that had a similar sandwich a week or so ago. I took home half the sandwich and the next day, I separated the roll and it was mostly cheese with maybe a toothful of beef! The Down Pour is always generous with their portions.
You Need To Know? Arrived with reservations for 6:30 & we were seated immediately. The service was friendly, helpful, & she had awesome recommendations. We had the mac & cheese with chicken, the French dip which was juicy & flavorful, sweet corn rissotto with chicken & sweet corn rissotto with scallops. Food was fantastic & the restaurant frequently updates it's menu. If your in the Wilkes Barre Area looking for a great bite to eat give The Down Pour a gooooo! Now You Know! -TBH
I hosted a 30th birthday party here for my friend and everything was fantastic! was able to add some touches with permission from the restaurant, staff was very kind and attentive. Definitely reccomend !
We can’t rate the food because for 23 minutes after receiving our water with lemon, the server failed to return to take our order on Wednesday November 27, 2024. This is supposed to be the second busiest day after New Years Eve , but the restaurant was totally empty, as commented on by the bartender. Well, the total lack of service proves why they were not busy! We walked out and got Jerry’s Pizza! Downpour failed on food AND service which serves as the backbone to food service!

A bar with a very friendly, cozy, and modern atmosphere ✨️ ? The room with the lighted umbrellas was amazing! We made reservations and were welcomed and seated immediately. We got a Mexican street corn dip with homemade chips, homemade chili with cornbread for appetizers ? For entrees we got French Onion Chicken & Crab Florentine Risotto. The food was excellent ? The service was good and atmosphere was wonderful. I would highly recommend for a date night out.

Only salads and catch a drink kind of place.
Food was terrible, tasted burnt. Some things we ordered were undercooked. Had stomach pains for hours after we left. Place is definitely not worth the price or the time
$103 for 1 appetizer, two meals, 3 drinks. Never again.

I've never had shrimp and grits so strange. The pickled mushrooms were a real turn-off. The grits were in a small, square cake at the bottom. The "shrimp scampi" had no "sauce" on the noodles and some sort of dried tomato paste on the shrimp. Others in our party who had rosuto were pleased with their meals.
