The sushi is really fresh and very different

Always great service and delicious sushi! It’s a bit on the pricier side, but the quality and experience make it well worth it.

This is one of our favorite spots for special occasions like Valentine’s Day or anniversaries. The atmosphere feels upscale, the food is consistently excellent, and the service is always great.

A wonderful choice when you're looking for a nice night out.

We went to Ooka to celebrate our son's 11th birthday. Our reservation was for 7:30pm and we were seated immediately, but it was approximately 15 minutes later before anyone to our order or offered us beverages.
Our chef was very entertaining and he repeated our selections for accuracy. He was patient with the kids in our party and ensured they all caught a piece of food.
During dinner, my husband spilled his drink. We had to clean it up and our waiter didn't assist outside of bringing extra napkins. He had to sit where the floor was now sticky for the rest of our meal.
The salad was fresh and tasty, but had too much dressing for my taste. The soup was the perfect compliment and was very hot. The shrimp tempura was a greasy mess and lacked flavor of any kind. The sushi and dumplings were fresh, well seasoned and were devoured before my husband and I could blink. Our proteins were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The portions were extremely generous. Our son's and his friends wanted dessert which they did not have so we went to Dairy Queen.
Despite a couple of hiccups, it was a great experience and our son enjoyed his birthday.
Next time, we will remember to stop by the wine and spirits store.

The food is great and service is pretty fast. We come here once or twice a year.

I highly recommend the James Bond Roll, IF you like garlic.
I also like the Lobster Dynamite Roll, Spice Tuna Pizza and the Lobster Bisque.

My only complaint is with our last experience. We sat in the Hibachi area and 3 of us did Hibachi meals. The main course was being plated in front of us as we got our appetizers.

Places need to train better.

On a Saturday afternoon, shortly after 12:00 PM, I visited Ooka Sushi Hibachi Steakhouse with my family. Our initial intention was to experience the hibachi, but we were informed that hibachi service would not commence until 2:00 PM. Given our desire for Japanese cuisine, we opted to dine at a table and order from the menu.

The menu's presentation was somewhat unconventional, yet we successfully placed our orders. The sushi featured fresh ingredients, and its overall quality and taste were satisfactory. The miso soup and salad met our expectations. The seafood soup, intended for two, was served in a substantial bowl but was somewhat lacking in flavor. However, some patrons might appreciate its very light broth. This soup contained two mussels, four clams, two shrimp, two small pieces of crab, and a generous amount of vegetables. The broccoli pieces were notably larger than typically found in soup. The stir-fried udon noodles my son ordered were very delicious. The kids lunch box was also presented very well.

Overall, the dining experience was positive. All food was presented very well. While the cost of the food was slightly higher than that of comparable or superior Japanese establishments, the pricing remained acceptable. Upon our departure around 1:00 PM, several hibachi tables were actively serving guests.

We have visited Ooka many times,
and it never disappoints. The interior is simple , but the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming.
They have a great variety of food choices, but the sushi is the real star. For the price point, the quality is on a very high level—everything is incredibly fresh and made with top-tier ingredients.
Our absolute favorite appetizer is the Baked Mussels; we order them every single time. Highly recommend
You definitely need to book a table in advance because they are always packed!

Our server Amy was nasty and rude. We literally got up and left midway through. We asked if we could order when she got to our table and she said hold up and then circled around the restaurant for 10 minutes and started taking other people’s order if you came after us. When I tried to order, she cut me off and the first thing she said when she said was “what do you want?” And when I was trying to order, she kept trying to get the order from the other person who came with me, and she barely even let me finish. We had questions about the menu and she seemed confused and had a very disgusting nasty attitude, and based off the look on her face, she just gave us nasty. Looks like she was some nasty highschooler who had some beef with us when we don’t even know her?? After that interaction, we got up and left. We will not be returning here.

I usually dine in with the food and service being great, but Friday, 2/27/26, I ordered a takeout. When my grandson and I sat down to eat at home, everything was good except for the 2 orders of shrimp tempura. Without a doubt, they sold me old shrimp tempura. So disgusting that I just threw them all in the trash. So just don’t do take out!!!
