Gio’s is our favorite restaurant and bbq in the Clearfield area! Brisket is second to none! Fudge is great! Staff is always pleasant! Highly Recommend ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Gio’Bbq is one of the best caterers we have had on a regular basis for our brides at Marraras Lodge! Amazing chicken and brisket
Some of my favorite bbq.

Twice in the last year we received underweight portions of brisket. We’re talking only 13 1/2 ounces instead of the advertised 16 ounces (One pound). When we informed management, we were treated with indigment. This is sad as we always had looked forward to dropping in on our way past on I-80. Unfortunately they lost us as customers.

Discovered Gio’s on route from Buffalo to Baltimore. Nice discovery.
We can attest to tasty quality bbq meats, generous portions and reasonable prices. Cornbread was a bit sweet for my taste but flavorful. The Mac & cheese was good - glad it was not fancied up. The bathrooms were clean.
Totally recommend Gio’s!

Ribs were meaty. Half rack + 2 sides was more than enough for two people.

Brisket and provolone sandwich was awesome
We enjoyed the barbecue beef sandwich and catfish meal. Staff are always pleasant snd the variety is wide. Mini grocery is convenient for the stop, too.

Young girl on the register/front desk with a tattoo on her right leg (2006) does not deserve to be dealing directly with customers, she has no sense of hospitality, does not even acknowledge your thank you and hello left aside saying that herself.
Just a suggestion for the owners.

... indeed, I have had some great bbq in a gas station - Oklahoma comes to mind, for sure. This place is slightly above average, but not as much to get a very good rating from me. I had both the pork and brisket. While both lacked smoke flavor, they were very edible, for sure. Their sauce is unique - liked it. Slaw is something to skip
In 2018-2019 I would travel quite often on I-80 and would stop at GIO’s for a hot meal and I’ve finally been able to get back in the area to eat from their establishment and it’s still good even till this day great job on keeping up with the times and not losing food quality taste and service
Delicious food and pleasant service
I walked in and ordered a cowboy burger. I proceeded to pay, and the lady stated after for future reference they don’t accept cash app. I have used cash app as my main bank for 3 years, haven’t had a single problem. After ordering my food, I went to grab a drink at the convenience side of this gas station.
I have not once had a gas station tell me they also don’t accept cash app, so I asked the older lady if they accepted cash app. (It’s tied to my Apple Pay and requires me to transfer money out to a different bank), so it’s a bit of an inconvenience for me.)
She proceeded to say, and I quote, “Oh my god, you used cash app at *owners name* restaurant! It’s posted everywhere, you’re not supposed to do that. She proceeded to verify with staff at the restaurant asking if I committed this “sin”, ignoring the fact I’m in line with people behind me trying to buy a damn Celsius. Then she told me of course we don’t, didn’t you see the signs? (They are posted on the entry door, handwritten, easy to go unnoticed.) All this was said with a rude tone, acting as if I ruined the poor business by paying for my meal.
Overall food was good, but customer experience is a way to lose somebody quick. I would not eat here again due to the negative experience I had. To reiterate, the restaurant wasn’t rude like this, it was the lady at the convenience side of this gas station. Probably family which is one of many issues in a workplace. This also happened a couple months ago, I just remembered the experience and wanted to report on it.
