Second time eating here and we love the atmosphere, food and service. Sadly they will be shutting down at the end of January (Maybe they’ll have a change of mind with strong support!) Excellent wings (hot honey) and traditional fish and chips with curry sauce for chips (cut Irish style) Nice beers on tap and bands playing Irish music both times we’ve ate here. Bar area looks relaxing and inviting though we sat at a table.
The food is outstanding, the service was great. It was empty because of bad weather so no real atmosphere to speak of. Best fish and chips in

We have visited the Yankee Chipper now a few times and have really enjoyed it. The service is very good and the menu is getting better and better. They have had some really tasty specials recently...crab cakes with an awesome corn salad side. The fish and chips are amazing as well. The beer list on draft is great...not a ton of beers, but a very nice list and they are all brewed in PA. The Yankee Chipper brews its own as well. The stout is as good as Guinness, if not better. They also make great cocktails if that's your thing. They have also added tv's and high tops to the bar area. That combined with some of the menu items....wings, burgers among other nice options, make the Yankee Chipper not only a nice local restaurant to visit, but also a great place to catch a game, a stop for happy hour, or just to hang at bar with friends. It's a pretty low key atmosphere, which is really nice when you don't feel like fighting for space or a table. they also live music nights...not overwhelmingly loud or anything crazy. Highly recommend them....they are still relatively unknown, but when the word gets out, I would expect it to change.

Great, traditional Irish pub. Saturday night meant live music and it was an Irish folk singer tonight complete with educational moments on the meanings and terms of the songs. Brews specific to Yankee Chipper add to the experience. Meal was hot and tasty. We had the bangers and mash and the seared salmon and some great fries as an appetizer. We stuck with entrees but they have plenty of variety at all price points. Only wish they had not run out of the steak but all the more reason to do a second visit.

They are back open after summer hiatus and renovations.....you are a fool if you aren't hitting this place up for food and beers if you are in/around Wyndmoor. Highly recommend. Super nice owner and staff who take pride in their product.

This was a takeout order on a Sunday , when they open earlier than the rest of the week, so you can do lunch. The place impressed me because I called early but they asked my ETA so they could have it ready piping hot; when I got there it was just being bagged and it arrived home nice and warm. The fish and chips, tried Traditional and American, were delicious, not greasy, light and ample. The braised beef sandwich was yummy, and try a side of the vinegar-y red cabbage slaw, goes perfectly! It’s near the shops of Chestnut Hill and the Morris Arboretum for out-of-towners. Worth a visit for sure.
The best food I've had in a long time. The fries and curry were absolutely delicious. Oh, and the fish was as well. Outstanding. Will return soon.
