Service was simply direct and straight to the point so I could get my delicious food and smash! There's nothing like some good greens and macaroni and these are bussin bussin! Whole chicken wings & whiting, HIT! The chicken sandwich was ENORMOUS! I'm from Texas, the Souf and this fit in with our food. My only regret is not trying the candy (candied) yams. Next time.

We were visting from Chicago and had a taste for soul food. Delaney's came up as a top pick and so we decided to try it out. I have to say this place is LITERALLY AMAZING! The best soul food we ever had and I told my family that I would be 300lbs if I was Delaney's daughter. Don't be surprised if the gymnastics family comes back through the doors again.

I was in the mood for some soul food, but too tired to cook dinner myself after a long day working on my feet. I was passing through Yeadon on my way home an Googled soul food restaurants and Delaney's popped up. I'm so glad I decided to give this spot a try. I called in my order and the woman who answered the phone (later I found out this was Mrs. Delaney) was so courteous and explained details about my order; namely that the shrimp was sautéed in garlic and not fried. So many restaurants have poor customer service. It was nice to have someone so pleasant on the line. As a pescatarian, I ordered the 2-piece whiting platter with shrimp and cabbage and candied yams for the included sides. I added the mac & cheese as well. I rarely eat or order mac & cheese because I make it so much for family gatherings, but I'm glad I did. It was rich and creamy and you could taste they used multiple cheeses! The fish was fried well and the breading was seasoned to perfection. I really didn't need any hot sauce, but adding some put it over the top. The yams were sweet but not too sweet and the cabbage was good as well. I ate about half of the platter and was full and satisfied. I won't try the shrimp until tomorrow perhaps over some brown rice. But the garlic aroma was heavenly. I really aporeciated that the food was seasoned well, but not salty. I will definitely return to Delaney's. It's like going to your Auntie's or Grandma's for Sunday dinner. You can taste the love in every bite!

Everything is prepared to order. No dine-in. Only take away. Mrs Delaney is amazingly sweet and funny. She greets you as you arrive and as you leave. Food was AMAZING!!!! HUGE portions! I added spicy pepper to the greens when I got home, but it wasn’t needed. Wings were perfectly seasoned and crispy. I WILL go again!
This was my family's 1st time dining here. The food was DELICIOUS and full of flavor. Seasoned to perfection. The order delivered to the car service was great and a nice touch.

I'm sorry, The food was unacceptable. The chicken was dry, you can clearly see it wasn't fresh. It was reheated in the microwave. The mac&cheese was just as bad if not worst than the chicken. They took some dry noodles. Put it in a cup added cheese and stuck that in the microwave. It was so bad that the cheese was stuck in the foam container. With all that being said, I Dont know if they're giving themselves these ratings or not. But your food won't get better if you can't admit change needs to happen. Hopefully this helps, I Hope to comeback and have a different experience.
