I pulled up to Chick-fil-A on a Sunday, half-hoping I could grab a quick bite before heading home. As I approached the entrance, something seemed off—no cars in the drive-thru, no crowd inside. I checked my phone. It was Sunday, the one day of the week they’re closed. But the door was unlocked, so I figured I'd give it a shot.
I pushed it open, and the silence inside was almost eerie. The lights were on, but there were no employees in sight. The faint smell of fried chicken lingered in the air. The soft clatter of chairs scraping against the floor broke the stillness. I turned the corner into the back area, thinking I’d just grab a napkin or something before leaving.
That’s when I saw them—a small, odd gathering of people sitting in the dim light of the backroom. The room was off-limits, with no obvious reason for anyone to be there. I froze, realizing these weren’t your typical patrons. They were speaking in hushed tones, and their clothes, mismatched in a way that screamed deliberate, gave them away. They weren't here for chicken.
The conversation turned darker. They were plotting. One man—older, with a cold sneer—was lecturing the group. "The first step is to cut off their influence," he said, pointing to a scribbled map of the city. "We eradicate them, slowly. Extermination is necessary for survival."
Another person, a woman with a tattoo of a snake wrapped around her arm, nodded in agreement. "They won't see it coming," she muttered.
My stomach dropped. This wasn’t just some random, offbeat meeting. It was something deeply troubling, a hateful ideology in motion. I backed away slowly, keeping my breath steady. I turned and bolted for the door, nearly tripping over the welcome mat.
Just before I reached the exit, the man from earlier raised his voice. "You’ll regret seeing this," he shouted.
I didn’t stop. I slammed the door behind me and ran to my car, heart pounding in my chest. I drove away, feeling sick, the air in my lungs burning with the need to get as far away as possible. I'd walked into something I never expected—and I wasn't sure what I had just uncovered.
But as I pulled out of the parking lot, I could only think one thing: how the hell had the door even been unlocked?

Girl with a grey shirt and blonde braids stared at me as she helped every single other person. She literally started helping the people who were walking up behind me. She never ONCE asked me if i needed something, etc. very ignorant. Didn’t say “my pleasure” or even “you’re welcome”. AWFUL customer service at this store. I was picking up a DoorDash that was ready the entire time. I was staring at it. Of course you have to tell them if you’re picking it up. But if you walk in with a phone they ignore you 🤣 make it make sense. Will forever go to the chick fil a on 30.

The remodel ruined this location. The customer service is not the same literally ran by a bunch of teenagers with no manners or urgency. The drive through line takes way too long now. I used to come here everyday from my commute from Lancaster because the service was amazing and they would cook my hashbrowns hard for me (no one wants soft or undercooked potatoes) today one of the employees literally told me they can’t do that anymore. I will not be returning and I am a red status chickfila member. I’ve spent alot of money with this establishment and it’s sad to see the service deplete with this supposed upgrade. Coming to this location used to be the favorite part of my morning and has now become a nightmare no matter what time of day.
I doubt people need encouragement to try Chick-fil-A! We stopped here on our way home for Christmas.and the chicken sandwich and peppermint milkshake were such a treat. Thank you, Hubby, for knowing I am a road trip foodie!

I love to get a cup of cheese sauce so I can dip my fries into it kale salad is really good, and of course the. sandwich was delicious
Vegetarian options: Kale salad, which is really tasty.
Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly there's plenty of food options. They also have a playground inside the store at the York Walmart Chick-fil-A.
