The place is a nice place to sit down and have a meal with friends and family. However the service can I be improved. I guess they are harvesting the crops and animals per order. So the kitchen staff hops on the ol' horse and rides out to the prairie set to return....never. I felt like I like I aged 2 years and my hair turned grey waiting for my food to be prepared. The bartender moved like molasses on a cold winter day.

We made dinner reservations at the Fig & Barrel, the day prior to attending a show at an area theatre. When heavy traffic delayed our arrival, I called the restaurant, and the young man with whom I spoke reassured me that he’d find a way to seat us…and he did. I enjoyed one of the best Bloody Marys I’ve ever tasted, and my Kielbasa and Pierogi entree was perfect. Other members of our party got the Wood-Fired Crab Devonshire, and the Dijon and Herb Pork Tenderloin, and reported that they were delicious as well. Overall, we had a great dining experience, and can highly recommend the Fig and Barrel.

Although our party was large, we were low maintenance, and our server just seem to have forgotten about us. It was really embarrassing (for my family members, who love this place)we literally had to wait 45 minutes in a pretty much empty restaurant at that point to get his attention because he was so busy flirting with Two young women who came to the bar area. It’s all good to flirt, but when you stop doing your job, it should be noted.
They also sat a family in the bar area, with very drunk, very loud patrons. We had to shout to have a conversation with the person next to you at our table. Definitely not going there again.

We visited from out of state before attending a show. We walked in at 5:30 on a Saturday night without a reservation and immediately got seated (luckily at the last open table!). The atmosphere was very nice and comfortable. It reminded us of a pub in a city near our original home state which added to the enjoyment. Our waiter, Callum, was fantastic! He was very friendly and extremely attentive. He greeted us promptly and made sure to notify the kitchen that we were attending a show. Our food arrived very quickly and was delicious! My wife had the tots (with cheese and bacon) and the pretzel. I had the shrimp and grits and the pear fizz mocktail. All of the food was served warm and tasted delicious! If we lived in the area, we would definitely visit often!

Charming place, I was looking to grab something to eat while on a business trip. My searching lead me here. I had a wonderful dinner and my server was on the ball. He was incredibly busy with all the tables, I sat down right before the dinner rush. My only complaint was it took almost 40 minutes to get my dessert. I had to take it to go as I spent 2 hours there already. Otherwise it was a great find and if I'm in the area again I would be sure to stop.

This place is the best. I love coming here, the atmosphere is incredible, and the service is SO good. Food is inventive, unique and delicious. So lucky to have a place like this in York. Cocktails are top notch. The whiskey list is also incredible! I love scouring the little book and finding new things to try. I do wonder if any additions will be made eventually, as I feel like I've tried mostly everything at this point (not a fault of the restaurant!!!) especially in the scotch whisky. But even if not, I have no complaints and I continue to look forward to coming here every chance I get. I'm very thankful for the opportunity to try so many amazing different whiskies, ESPECIALLY considering the fact they let you order sample (.5oz or 1oz) sizes and have a huge variety of flights. Amazing job on this place!! Can't say enough good stuff about this place and their awesome staff.

Well we decided to have a nice dinner and drinks for our 7 year anniversary. The staff at fig and barrel ruined that. Despite making a reservation for 6pm and actually arriving and being seated early, we did not have a single staff member come to our table. No one took our drinks, no one asked if anyone came to check on us despite us clearly only having water on the table. Not for 25 minutes. We got sat at 5:55, and I finally said enough is enough and left at 6:25 when I counted the 4 table seated after us and being waited on with two having drinks already. I slammed the menus at the host stand and said I guess we won’t be needing these if no one comes to take our orders. It’s a Monday evening. There were multiple empty tables. We had a reservation. There’s no excuse for this at all. 5-10
Minutes sure. Not nearly half an hour. It’s a shame because this used to be a nice place with great food and drinks. I wouldn’t know since the cataclysmically bad staff didn’t care to take our orders. Y’all need to do better.
