Went in with high hopes but was very unpleasant. The food was not worth it at all. They charge you for refills when you didn’t ask nor need them. There is also a technology fee. All there rolls on the menu either at barbecue sauce in them or teriyaki sauce. Would not recommend going there for sushi. The money was not worth it at all.

You have to go into BONES N SHELLS, dining area to the left. This is the sushi place. Chef here has 40-50 years of experience. Anything you want! No end to the kind of rolls he's made in his lifetime. My favorite is quail egg sushi. I asked him to make a nest of spicy tuna with the egg on top. Yes! Our new favorite place for sushi! Must check this out if you're a sushi lover.

My SO and I used to go to the stand alone Ocean San sushi restaurant often. We loved loved loved the food and atmosphere. It was quaint, quiet, and always had room for two. It was THE best sushi place in York county. But now that Ocean San has moved into Bones n Shells, we feel the quality of the sushi has gone down to focus more on the Americana food. The atmosphere has also drastically changed from a relaxing, almost spa like experience, to a loud wooden box of a room. That being said the staff are always amazing! They are always kind, attentive, and treat you like family. I just wish the sushi experience was separate from the “family friendly” dining experience. We have enough restaurants like that around York county.

The best way I can describe this place is that it's a biker bar that serves heavy-handed, Americanized sushi. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's also not what I expect when going to a sushi place. The sushi rolls are large and overflowing with toppings. The slabs of raw fish are thick and chunky. The prices seem high per roll given the ambiance but when you realize each roll is probably 40% larger than an average sushi place, they seem to be priced appropriately. Nothing tasted particularly fresh, nor did it taste bad. There's a certain delicateness and balance I look for out of a sushi roll. The right proportions of fish, vegetables, sauces and rice can make for an amazing flavor experience. These rolls are more of an overload. More savory, more sweet, more spice. More is better, right? For us it was a bit much and took away from the experience. The fact that the Sushi place has collapsed into the biker bar -- as an all in one restaurant now -- also takes away from the ambiance as well.

I absolutely hate leaving negative feedback for a restaurant but there are glaring issues at the time this is being written. Before Bones-n-Shells took over, Ocean San was a solid destination for good quality sushi, now Ocean San is an obviously an afterthought at this operation. The atmosphere feels like they are running two seperate restaurants out of the same dining room (they are). The sushi menu is a slap if you like sushi.. lots of bacon, BBQ sauce (???) and lacking rolls with eel, tuna, etc. I am totally fine with all of this if the product is tasty, but sadly that was the most disappointing part of all. Oversized disproportionate rolls, wrapped lousily, smothered in sauce, embarrassing really. $73 for 3 sushi rolls and 2 waters. We were charged for King size for all 3, even though we were not asked what size we wanted. I could've asked when we ordered, but not asking and assuming the largest size is shady. When it doubles the price of the food item, ask what size people want. Very sad to see a formerly good restaurant in freefall.

Tried many times to get in here for dinner but was to busy. So we went in for lunch. We had the pot roast tatter tots and very impressed with the crispness of the tots. Could have given a bit more gravy on the side. My wife got the Cuban and it was loaded with meat and very good. I got the blue cheese burger and they passed my burger test. Ordered it mid-rare and by damned it was mid-rare. Tons of blue cheese and very juicy. Only complaint was of all things the napkins. Thin fast food napkins. Excited to try dinner sometime.

Last night we ate on the outside deck and was awesome!! Was not busy at all and the drinks were super fast and food was awesome!! We have learned if you sit in the dining room the food sucks if you sit in the bar or on the outside deck food is awesome. Have no idea why there's such a difference but there absolutely is
