The First Post has become our favorite restaurant. We absolutely love their French Onion soup, we have ordered it in many places, and the FP is definately on top. The salmon dish is delicious also, actually, I don't think we have had a bad experience yet. When someone asks us where we like to eat, I always recommend The First Post.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner in one of the private rooms upstairs, and it could not have been a better experience. We ate at The First Post a few times when visiting York in the lead-up to our wedding, and every time we were there the food was incredible and the service was superb. We did a buffet-style dinner for the rehearsal, and even our pickiest of eaters were raving about the food. Whether you’re visiting for a regular meal or using event space, I can’t recommend them enough!

Wow, amazing place! Brought grandparents here for a birthday and everyone was impressed. Great food, great service, nice atmosphere - one of the best restaurants I've been to in the last few years. Would absolutely come back here again, only wished I lived closer! Between a steak, burger, bisque and a few salads, everything was high quality and savory. Parking is the only thing that could be a challenge. We got a close spot near the building, if you're not one of the lucky 20 to park there, you need to park in the big lot across the creek and walk, but not terrible.

First Post is a fixture in our regular date night rotation and for good reason as you can always count on great food and attentive service. The charred octopus was an interesting combination of tastes. The bowl of cream of crab was one of the better ones we tasted though it was so very rich and filling that a cup would have been more suitable. The crab cakes and salmon were excellent, cooked to perfection with great flavors. We left full and satisfied. We will definitely be back!

Makenzie, our server, was patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, but not hovering. The restaurant was packed solid, but service and food were timely. Food is delicious as always. Fish with the fish and chips was HUGE! cream of crab soup, yes, please! yum!
