We recently visited Victor’s Italian Restaurant to celebrate my birthday, expecting a fine dining experience with live jazz. Unfortunately, the evening did not meet expectations.
We made a reservation a month in advance, yet upon arrival we were greeted by a host who seemed unpleasant and apathetic. We were told our table would be ready in five minutes and invited to wait at the bar. That five minutes turned into 25.
Once seated, the dining room felt cramped, overly loud, and uncomfortable. The live jazz we were looking forward to was positioned for the bar crowd and was barely audible in the dining area, which made the advertised ambiance feel misleading.
While our waitress was kind and attentive, there were several details that fell short of what one would expect from an any restaurant. There was no acknowledgment of a special occasion, and complimentary bread did not arrive until 15 minutes after being seated — and only after we asked. We were told it “takes 10 minutes to warm up,” which suggested it was reheated rather than freshly prepared.
The food, especially at the price point, was disappointing: • The bruschetta was soggy with wilted toppings. • The fried calamari was inconsistent — some pieces cold, others soft instead of crisp. • The gemelli pasta lacked the distinct pesto, sun-dried tomato, and garlic flavors described on the menu. • The veal Parmesan was bland and missing the traditional red sauce one would expect.
Italian cuisine should feel fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Sadly, that was not our experience. With improvements to service coordination, atmosphere, and food execution, this place could have much more potential. As it stands, we left disappointed, especially given that it was meant to be a special celebration. Anyone giving this restaurant a rating pass 2 is lying or has very low standards.

We had such a wonderful experience last night. Savannah was a great server and super friendly. My husband and I came in with our two week old (we weren’t sure how it would go). We were given the perfect spot tucked away in the corner where we weren’t going to bother anyone incase our little one woke up. This was so appreciated!
All the food we had was well prepared and tasty. We ate the calamari, lobster bisque, bolognese, chicken piccata, and lava cake. Entrees took a little long to come out, but overall, we had a terrific experience.

This place is extremely tuffffffff the food is bussin bussin. I’ll definitely come again once I work up my money because it’s a little expensive but it’s really high quality food. This is one of the best restaurants in York pa. my server was funny, her name is McKenzie. I’m writing this as I’m eating the surf and turf. The steak is really really really really bussssssinnnnnn and everything it comes with is really really super goooooood. Mackenzie’s mean Shirley temple is the most bussinnnnn Shirley temple I’ve ever had. Now that’s my experience here and I recommend you to come here.

My boyfriend and I LOVED this place. It is a hidden gem. The actual building is beautiful inside and out. The service was wonderful; we loved our waitress Addy & she was super knowledgeable of the menu and was able to guide me to substitutions that met my preferences. All the food was delicious, but the sauce with the tortellini was unmatched; my boyfriend said it was the best he has ever had.
I also loved how quiet the restaurant was. Perfect for talking and intimate dates.

We have been to Victor’s several times and have had an excellent experience each time so it was an easy decision to use their catering service when I hosted a very last minute party. I called the restaurant and spoke with Kent who was a great help in answering my questions about the catering menu. We ordered the Braised Rib Lasagna, Chicken Piccata with Penne and Chicken Piccata with Risotto, Chicken Parmigiana with Risotto, 2 Dozen Meatballs, 2 quarts of Bolognese Sauce, 2 quarts of Marina and one quart of Rose Sauce. I made a few different pastas for the sauces. Everything was delicious! Our guest raved over the food. It was easy to heat with the instructions they sent and came out perfect. I wish I would have thought to take pictures. They were also very accommodating with the pick up time allowing us plenty of time to get it set up for a 5:00 dinner. Thank you to the Chef and those who helped prepare our order and to Kent for taking such good care of us . Everything was great and worth every penny. We will definitely use this service again!
