1 star because the food was very bad. I used to eat here when I visit each year but this year was truly horrible. The three appetizers were overcooked and beyond dry. The Korean beef was almost impossible to tear apart, like jerky. The shrimp was too deep fried and hard, the crab Rangoon was tough and seemed old. The general tsos chicken was so dry and tough she couldn’t swallow it without choking. The chicken pad Thai was barely sauced, the chicken was tough, and was very low on flavor compared to what I normally have had at any Thai place.
While the chicken basil and tofu black pepper were edible and had more flavor, they weren’t good enough to even justify two stars for the food.
Service and atmosphere were average.

This place is easily the best sushi experience I've had in a long time. The quality of the fish is truly impeccable; every slice of sashimi tasted unbelievably fresh and practically melted in my mouth.

I love this place. The service is good. They are always accommodating and we only wait a few minutes for a free table. We both order the general tsos chicken which is so good. The chicken is crispy and flavorful. We also order the green curry rice with chicken to share. We've had the ginger chicken which is amazing as well as many other dishes.

The food here is genuinely so delicious. Like this place is practically my favorite restaurant. I wish my dad would take me here more often because I love their vegetable egg rolls and vegetable dumplings. The waiters are great too, and they always bring the food quickly, even when the place is packed during rush hour. This restaurant needs to expand because it is great!

Fabulous place to eat. The food is so inexpensive, I felt guilty because you are served large amounts. Service was great, so left a large tip to make up for guilt from low cost of food.

The food was not ready when it was supposed to be. When our takeout order finally came out the hostess assured us she checked and it was all there. We drove a half hour home only to find out we were missing 1/3 entrees. Incredibly frustrating experience all around.

Viet Thai Cafe Review (York, PA)
Viet Thai Cafe in York is a fantastic spot for a flavorful date night! I thoroughly enjoyed the hearty Laotian dish—the distinct flavor profile was a welcome change. My girlfriend loved her choices. The Coconut Soup was rich and spicy, hitting all the right notes with its warm, aromatic broth. Her Pad Kee Mau (Drunken Noodles) was perfectly seasoned and had a great spicy kick. The menu blends Thai, Vietnamese, and Laotian cuisine beautifully, offering something delicious for everyone. Great food and friendly service make this a must-try. We will definitely be back!

This restaurant has the most delicious curry. Everything we’ve had is simply amazing. Our favorite is the red curry coconut noodles with shrimp and scallops. Cannot wait to keep exploring the menu!

Usually really good but this time my husband ordered the shank beef. Was really skimpy. Mostly lettuce, very bland in taste and pieces of meat..no whole meat with the ribs included, like the picture. My go to lemon grass chicken is very good but the reviews on the shank beef meal definitely needs to be tweaked.
Restaurantji Recommends
I've been dining here since it was a little hole in the wall on E. Market. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant and their management. They have produced a consistently high-quality product for over 25 years, and that is a very difficult thing to do. Have used them for catering and special events many times as well. York needs more places like this.

I’m sad to write this review because we have been eating here since they were a tiny restaurant on W Market, but today I ordered the Thai Mussels and sweet basil and was very disappointed. I get that prices are going up, but 6 mussels, 5 snow peas and some carrots and celery for $15.50. The coconut broth was flavorful, but the mussels tasted old. The chicken in the lettuce wraps was mushy and this is a go to appetizer for us, so we’re familiar with the texture. I’m hoping they just had an off day, but it makes me sad if quantity and quality has been lost at an additional cost.
