Summary: mid food, HORRIBLE customer service, rude staff. Do not go here if you don’t want a stressful meal.

I walked in and needed to use the bathroom very badly before I could sit down and order anything. I asked to go to their bathroom and she asked if I was a customer. I said yes, I’d love to try their food, but I desperately needed the bathroom first. She hesitated and said I needed to be a customer to use the bathroom, and I emphasized that I was very hungry and just needed to use the bathroom. She finally let me past to go to the bathroom then said they charge $5 to use the bathroom if you don’t buy anything. Fair enough, I completely understand, but it’s just a bathroom. There’s no need to protect it so strongly. It was also absolutely freezing in the bathroom. When I came out, she was standing at the front blocking the door and pointed towards the menus. She asked if we would be taking it to go or dining in, and we said dining in. I was there with a friend and asked if he wanted anything. He said no as he wanted to wait until he got home. I ordered a Thai tea and some teriyaki beef. She then asked again if we were taking it to go and I said no we’ll be eating there. She then said that my friend could not sit down with me while I ate because he wasn’t buying anything. The place was completely empty. She never said anything about their policy of charging an extra 20% for dine in meals. I had not noticed the signs explaining that policy. I don’t have an issue with that policy, either. It guarantees a tip for the server. What I have an issue with is having it in small text on papers posted in the store when there’s all kinds of signs and papers everywhere, making it difficult to notice if you’re not specifically looking at all the signs. When I questioned the price in a very calm and polite manner, she immediately began speaking to me in a very rude and condescending tone. She also told me that if I don’t agree with their policies then I shouldn’t waste my time speaking and I should leave. I didn’t understand what she was saying and then she showed me the paper that said it. She began slowly reading the paper as if I were a child, the paper which had poor grammar and took me a few reads to fully understand. English is hard, I understand the grammar mistakes, but speaking to me like that is exceptionally poor customer service and general manners. Once I understood it was essentially a tip built into the price, I was fine with it. She then went into the back and immediately began yelling in what I can only assume to be Tagalog. Also, the food was at least decent. It was not great, but reasonable for the price. The rice tasted like instant rice to me, not authentic Thai cuisine. I’ve had better rice from fast food restaurants. Overall, the restaurant looked like it could have been somewhat of a hidden gem, but the service was deplorable and the attitude from the woman in the front was terrible. I’ve seen other reviews emphasizing the great atmosphere and superb friendliness from the staff, and good for them they got lucky and had a good experience. But then they edit their reviews to say that those leaving negative reviews and complaining about poor customer service are wrong and just don’t know what they’re talking about. I’ve been trying working in customer service my whole life and I’ve never seen such horrible attitudes. The restaurant also replies to negative reviews saying things like, “we don’t need our restaurant to be ruined by cheap people,” “so disgusting to have cheap people come in our place and try to ruine our policies,” and “look at yourself before tell people how cheap you are.” It is absolutely astonishing to me that this restaurant has a 4.5 average.

Great food but diner beware. $8 surcharge to Eat In and not tell you this fee until after you pay is ridiculous! Foodwise we would return but that surcharge never again. $8 lost you a return customer. Eating out is expensive enough.

Food is absolutely outstanding, and service is top-notch. The waitress working was incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was perfect. Absolutely a must-go for anybody visiting the city and is (clearly, based on the people talking in the restaurant) a great place for locals.

EDIT: I would also like to add about other reviews. A good number of the one star reviews stem from customers complaining about the restaurant policies. This is disappointing, because the policies listed are incredibly reasonable.
1) No outside food or drink. How people are mad at this one is beyond me. This is a no-brainer for basic restaurant etiquette.
2) Charge for restroom without meal purchase. This only arises when a group tried to use the bathroom without paying for a meal. Standard practice in pretty much any bigger city / local place.
3)Minimum purchase required. In order to make high-quality food, you need high-quality ingredients. These cost a lot of money. The quality here definitely justifies it, and this is also a standard practice in many places as well.
4)No speakerphone usage. C’mon guys, nobody wants to hear your private conversations. Not the guests, nor the staff.
5) 20% gratuity charge on dine-in. Also pretty reasonable considering the low cost and quality of the food and is (again) standard practice in many places.

In conclusion, I personally feel that many of the 1-star reviews are completely unwarranted.

It seems like they are predominantly a small take-out place, but were willing to accommodate our party of 9 walk-in’s. The food was really good. Excellently seasoned and well prepared. I could tell this is not typical mass produced “Chinese food”. This was original recipes and freshly prepared. The server was very nice. The interior could use some TLC and fixing up, but wasn’t unpleasant. Good size food portions and good value for the money. It is BYOB.

If you like a dirty venue and nasty service than this is your place. Automatic 20% tip for terrible service, plus 2% for card plus $3 for a water or can of soda.

We sat down, ordered our food, and ordered 2 waters. The glasses of water were so dirty that you could see chunks of food floating around in it—a lot. It looked like sea monkeys floating around. Either the ice machine needs to be cleaned or the dishwasher is not rinsing correctly. We quietly said something to the young girl working there. She asked us to buy bottles of water 4 times. I declined. so she went in the kitchen and her and the male cook were yelling about it. Then she came back and insisted we leave. VERY RUDE.

Overall the place looks run down and dirty inside. It doesn’t look anything like the pictures inside. If I could give zero stars I would. there are only two tables inside for anyone to sit down and eat at. The third table is permanently marked reserved and there are no longer any chairs at the bartop or window. The first chair I tried to sit in is broken and ready to collapse. I was scared to tell the server because she was so mean.

Let me also add in that the worker will throw it in your face as soon as you walk in about how there is a 20% service charge if you decide to sit down and eat, no matter how bad your service is. She is very rude. Be warned!

So, so good. The Panang curry from this place is my favorite thing to eat right now. The restaurant itself is quite small with only a few tables, but great service. Pretty big portions for takeout.

Incredibly rude woman greeted me. Could barely be understood and I stood there trying to figure out what she was saying. After multiple failed attempts I left. The space is also dirty. Don’t believe me…visit.

I can't believe I haven't already posted a review - I've been coming here for years! It's absolutely one of my favorite restaurants, it's worth the drive if you're not close. It's a super cute little place with amazing authentic Thai food. I highly recommend the build your own soup (go easy with the spice if you aren't familiar with Thai spice!) or my favorite, the panang curry. It's also really vegan friendly with plenty of delicious plant based options.Front of house is very sweet and friendly, it's always so nice to see her again. It's all around a wonderful restaurant and of you've read this far, you definitely should go!!

Vegetarian options: There are several really solid choices here, if you like Thai food then you will be pleased to not know which thing to get! It's rare there's so many delicious options.
