I had the privilege of visiting York City Hall recently. I am not a city resident but work for a local business. The green recycle bin at our business was in very bad shape and I wanted to replace it. I looked on-line and found that I could get a replacement bin at City Hall - 101 S George St. I went into City Hall and was in the lobby looking at the building directory and someone behind me asked if I needed assistance. I told this nice gentleman that I was looking for a replacement recycle bin. The gentleman said he would be glad to assist. He stated that the replacement recycle bins were available on the 2nd floor. He also recommended I call up there first. I used the lobby phone to call and there was no answer, so this gentleman took me up to the office on the 2nd floor that had the replacement recycle bins. I then was told the fee to replace the recycle bin was $3.00 which I was aware of. I presented my debit card but was told it was cash only. The gentleman then told there was an ATM close to City Hall and he would show me where it was. I told him there would still be an issue since I could only get a 20-dollar bill and I would need change. He said no problem, he could handle that. We went to the ATM together and I got $20. We went inside, and I received my change and the new recycle bin. I thanked the gentleman for all his assistance and then asked his name. He said my name is Michael Helfrich, I am the Mayor of York. What a pleasant surprise and a very helpful and pleasant experience at York City Hall. Hats off to the Mayor of York, Michael Helfrich! Thank-you once again.

So I had a concern that our street wasn’t getting CLEANED but they were still giving out PARKING TICKETS, so me SPEAKING UP got me a summary at JUDGE MORGAN wowwwwwwwwwwwwwww talk about FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trying to fix and CLEAN UP THE CITY OR STREETS

Hands out parking tickets even when you are literally sitting in your vehicle. Doesn’t even have the decency to ask you to move even when there are not any no parking signs. Typical York City.

My offices have been in Downtown York for 5 years now and I have absolutely loved it. I love the shops, the restaurants, baseball games, outside seating, day or night. We've never had any problems with safety in fact people have been delightful.

The Big Swing Thing is happening at The Valencia Ball Room April 12 through 15th. This event is not to be missed if you love music, dance and or history! It is in its third year and year 1 and 2 were amazing!
