Service was excellent. Waitress was fantastic. Food was ok. Steak was a little burnt and the pasta had too much sauce. Had to skim through to get chicken
Liked this place for a while, but tonight ordered a baked mac and cheese and it was just totally overcooked noodles swimming in sauce. Disgusting. Who would want to pay 20+ bucks for that? I usually love their food and I've had better experiences with the same dish, so whoever was cooking tonight wasn't with it. You should be more considerate of the money people are willing to spend on your goods, because I'm not compelled to try again.

The Gahan House establishes itself as a regional establishment demonstrating genuine commitment to contemporary gastropub cuisine with Maritime sensibility. This heritage property thoughtfully balances historic preservation with modern culinary aspiration.
The kitchen demonstrates technical competence across a diverse menu spectrum. The oyster preparations showcase particular refinement—properly brined, impeccably fresh, presented with restrained elegance. The fish and chips transcends pub cliché through superior execution: crispy exterior yields to moist, flaky interior, complemented by properly balanced tartar. The house-made charcuterie reflects thoughtful sourcing and curing philosophy.
The beverage program commands particular attention—the on-site brewery produces well-articulated craft selections that demonstrate brewing acumen beyond mere novelty. Beer pairings with dishes evidence intentional consideration. The wine selections, though modest, reflect deliberate curation.
Aesthetically, the venue embraces its architectural legacy—brick, timber, and original details provide authentic context while contemporary flourishes avoid pastiche. The multi-level space accommodates various social configurations without compromising intimacy.
Service delivery occasionally wavers between attentive and distracted, particularly during peak periods. Some dishes prioritize plating flourish over flavor coherence. The basement facilities, while charming, require navigation challenges for accessibility.
Yet these minor inconsistencies cannot diminish what constitutes a destination meriting serious consideration. The Gahan House succeeds through integrated vision—culinary, architectural, and hospitality elements cohesively articulate genuine regional pride while embracing contemporary standards. A venue rewarding both casual visitation and intentional culinary exploration.

The reservation was for my daughter's 13th birthday. She said the service was fantastic and they brought her and her friends mini cheesecakes and peanut butter balls with candles. It made her feel very special and grown up. She had a great time and I was pleased with the quality, service and value.
Highly recommend the Beach Ale.

The coconut chicken curry was ok, lots of chewy peppers, and no sauce. Fish and chips were ok, fish small, and fries frozen Cavendish with strange seasoning. House burger looked nice. Burrito bowl tasteless. Ambiance was good and waitress was nice.
Not your typical 5 star rating! Look, I've been touring all eastern provinces in the last two weeks, and this place stands out by FAR! Service was the greatest, but the FOOD was above and beyond! I cannot believe some people gave less than 5 stars on this place!

Ordered the chicken sandwich - way too much breading - it was literally breaking off and falling on the table - chicken was also dry (overcooked). I've had better chicken sandwiches at McDonalds.

Food was ok . Service was fantastic! Music was a little loud, we were seated under a speaker
An interesting spot. THey have a wide selection of food, none too good, but it's a good place to bring family or friends for a night out.

The food here is decent. We were not wowed by it but it’s pretty good.
I wish they had more main dish vegan options than just a burger and salad.
The drinks were good and our group enjoyed the oysters.
The service was excellent.
The bathroom downstairs is dirty and smells awful.
