Found this place while driving through Cavendish on Sunday September 21st. We were the first one's to arrive when it opened at 11:30. My wife and I had the combination plate which was fantastic. The waitress was very kind and friendly in which I cannot remember her name. The place is great and we will be back next year.

What an incredible day which will long be remembered for the most unexpected!
At BoardWok restaurant, Cavendish, PEI, Feng Liu, the owner, a very friendly gentleman asks us what accommodations we were looking for. He suggested we go to his friend’s cottage in Brackley Beach, making arrangements himself there and then.
Whilst we waited for the cottage to be ready, Feng fed us with the most amazing dish of noodles with pork, chicken, onions and green peppers. What an absolutely delicious meal! So unanticipated and most appreciated. This is hospitality at its very best, topped up with generous connections that allowed us to enjoy Brackley Beach cottage tremendously. In season, I highly recommend BoardWok restaurant in Cavendish, a place like no other and an exceptional owner in PEI. As the gentleman working in the restaurant said, « the very best Chinese and Canadian food in the whole of PEI ».

The waitresses were fantastic but the food was the worst Chinese I've ever eaten .

Great Chinese food, But come on 1 waitress waiting on 20 plus tables, That is because of poor management or the waitress who is in charge of the staffing is greedy for tips and purposely only schedules herself to wait on all the tables. The watiress also handles the cash register and answering the phone.
TIPS stands for - To Insure Proper Service

I always love checking out gift shops when I travel and this boardwalk has many along with eating establishments. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Tasteless, probably the worst Chinese I’ve ever had. Everything was bland except the beef and broccoli which was salty and somehow also tasteless. Yuck!

This was our 2nd attempt visiting. First attempt was on a hot day and kitchen was closed to protect staff. Rightfully so. Second attempt was a Friday evening. Waited over an hour in a lineup of two takeout orders and a table of 5 and table for 2 prior to us. Only two waitress working the entire place. There was no help to clean tables, host or take orders. The phone was ringing off the hook, to the point, one of the waitresses unplugged it from the phone jack in the wall. The gentleman in front of us, who were both takeout orders, had mentioned they called over and over again to place an order. They mentioned how upset they were to have to wait in line just to place a takeout order. The latter of the two received his order as we were leaving AFTER having our meal! He did NOT look impressed. There seemed to be animosity between the two waitresses and noted they each had their own tip jar - and not shared. After we were seated, the girl behind us placed her takeout order. After that, they turned away the rest of the people in line! The brunette was working it, while the blonde was pretty much A-wall. Once we were finally seated, we placed our order immediately. The food still took about another 30mins to come. The garlic spare ribs were good. Tasted great, all meat, not fatty. The chicken balls were filled with chicken. The food tasted just fair. After all the hype we saw online, I do not feel our experience justified it. Tried it, but will continue to go to Kensington where the food tastes better and I know someone will pick up the phone when I call for a takeout order.

We got take out here this evening and everything tasted under seasoned, the broccoli in beef and broccoli was undercooked and the almond chicken was pretty flavorless. The chicken balls were fine but the sauce was underwhelming. The meat in all the dishes was pretty scarce. I’m sorry but this was a big miss for us. The price was the best part of the meal to be fair.

The lo mein noodles were great, as were the egg rolls. However the chicken balls were more bread than chicken and both the ginger beef and general gaos chicken were pretty flavourless.
