Food was exceptional, my husbands steak was less cooked than he would have liked and there was no problems with taking it back to give it another go. It was a very hot evening and there are fans with water spearying to keep us cool so we could enjoy our food. We didn't try the wine but I'm sure it would be extremely good. The children enjoyed seeing the large wine glasses and blow torch for the creme brulee.
Kid-friendliness: A small kids menu but both kids found something to eat and were very well looked after by the friendly staff

We recently visited this restaurant that we haven’t been to in a while and it left a lasting impression on us. The staff here are incredibly efficient and attentive, constantly ensuring our glasses were full and the table was cleared promptly.
I had the prawn risotto, which was absolutely delicious and generously packed with prawns. The desserts were fantastically displayed, and the crème brûlée was a crowd-pleaser for sure.
A wonderful touch to the end of our meal was a drop of port in this massive glass which not only was a great way to finish the meal but definitely got us to laugh and get some great pictures! A really nice touch!
Though small, this restaurant should not be overlooked. With good food and wonderful staff, it is definitely worth a visit.

Great food and wine and amazing service, with so many little quirks that just made the evening more enjoyable and memorable - certainly gave us something to talk about. I have coeliac disease so follow a gluten free diet, and the waiter informed me that I could have the majority of the menu, as they could make substitutions to make certain dishes gluten free. We shared a cataplana and it was delicious. The service is also amazing, due to the sauce on the cataplana, it is quite a messy dish, so they bring out bibs to wear, and it just made the experience that more memorable. We ordered the creme brulee for dessert and they come out with a blow torch to torch the top in front of you! They have a huge choice of wines, and at the end they brought out a comically large wine glass and filled it a little bit with port for you to drink. Another quirk that made it a little different and more fun. Would definitely recommend.

it’s a fantastic restaurant with a superb wine cellar! we go there for a snack other than grilled fish! it’s very good, refined and traditional cuisine always accompanied by excellent wines served in ridel glasses! Let yourself be advised by the owner Joao. We tasted a 50 year old Port that Joao shared and offered to us! Joao is a passionate and generous man who deserves that we stop at his home to taste his cuisine. above all else, he has a taste for hospitality and customer satisfaction! stop there when you are in Alvor, you will not regret it!
They could be more wine knowledgeable and “truly” polite. Also a variety of wine by the glass (beyond 2 per white and 2 per red) could best justify their name.
