“My wife, my son and I came because of the good rating on Tripadvisor and the truth is that it did not disappoint. First we ordered some garlic prawns and mussels and apart from being well cooked, the product was really fresh. For the second we ordered seafood paella because we come from Catalonia and we also wanted it, to the point, perfectly cooked and with very fresh product. The service is also very attentive. Out of 10 everything.“

“From start to finish everything was perfect. The waiter spoke to us on the street and we decided on this restaurant. The ambience was inviting and comfortable, the staff were extremely attentive and friendly, and they went out of their way to ensure that our visit was pleasant.The meal was a highlight. We had the home steak and it was absolutely delicious! Perfectly prepared to our liking, juicy, tender and full of flavor. The side dishes were also excellent.We were particularly impressed by how lovingly the staff treated our 7-month-old baby. “Without further ado... A 10...! I am a Tourist from Córdoba and I went to the restaurant for dinner with friends and children. Impeccable treatment, friendly and attentive, very beautiful atmosphere and spectacular food! Some delicious roasted sardines, delicious grilled cod and WONDERFUL brothy razor clam rice! One of the best, if not the best, soupy rice I've ever had! I recommend going without a doubt and of course when I return near here, I will return! Very obrigada 5 Quinas!“

“Very nice restaurant with amazing view and sunset. They even have blankets for the chilly evenings ( really appreciated to continue enjoying the late evening outside). It is also just at the end of the collection of bars on this strip and a bit elevated so it is also a little bit quieter at times - which is ideal if you want a drink in the center. The dishes are delicious, the staff is very pleasant and the service is fast.

“me and my family came to cafe alianca more than twice in alvôr, the food is amazing, and the staff are so friendly and kind, it’s not expensive and there are no negatives of this place whatsoever, you are able to smoke outside and the atmosphere is amazing too lots of people walking by in june 2024 (when we came), the food came within 10-15 minutes of ordering. we will without a doubt be coming back here everytime we come to alvôr.“

“Was hovering between 3 & 4 stars for overall review. Service was faultless. Incredibly friendly and very attentive. Cocktails and wine also great, highly recommend the Quinta da Lapa Syrah, delicious.

Now for the food. Having read the rave reviews, have to say we were disappointed. The starters (braised mozzarella, buffalo wings and breaded mushrooms) were all absolutely average and the steak was, despite the signs and write ups, also, very average. My daughter and I had sirloin and it was cooked OK, not amazing, just ok. All sauces and sides are extra cost (this is unusual in Portugal) so be aware. The bearnaise sauce was a bit too "mustardy" for me. My son had the oxtail which was lovely, although bizarrely served with rice - mash would work better.

Desserts were fine, tasty but not extraordinary.

Anyone who is a coeliac please be aware of very limited menu options. I'd chosen Faustinos because it stated it catered for gluten free but there was only 1 starter and 1 dessert, plus no gluten free bread.

Their recommendations and the brazed cod and sea bream were all delicious and for starters we ordered a wonderful garlic and cheese bread, but the apple pie was already incredible. I didn't know it was hot so I ordered it without ice cream but if you want to enjoy it to the fullest, order it with ice cream.

“There were four of us, that went to Nora's last week. Do not let the scruffy car park put you of. Inside the place is clean and bright, there are also places outside. The staff are friendly and attentive. They have meals of the day but also a small choice of meals. The food is typical Portuguese, do not expect pizza and burgers. The food is amazing, we ordered two T bones, one Pork grill and the fourth was mussels. All cooked to perfection, the steaks were enormous. Or bill for the four was 57€ including beer and wine. The only slight criticism is the lack of vegetables, but this seems to be the norm in Portugal. Great place to go................Enjoy“

“Fabulous position right on the beach. Great food at reasonable prices. Brilliant service from Marco and the team. Booking essential as it's so populsr and at busy times you may have to wait awhile as everything is cooked to order. However any wait is a small price to pay for such amazing food.“

I always check Google reviews before visiting a place. I saw some concerning comments about a red-haired lady, but after observing her while waiting for our table, I felt compelled to share my experience. This place is very busy, and she works hard to serve customers. She might not be the friendliest, but she’s not rude. In fact, she’s quite sweet if you show respect for her efforts. “This a great little cafe close to the centre of Alvor. We called in one evening after dinner and ordered two Calypso Coffees. These were served swiftly, and were strong with just the right amount of cream. The bill was very reasonable 9.0 euros. Woth a visit!“

“We ate at the Rib Eye Steak House twice during our weeks stay in Alvor, once on New Year’s Eve and again on our last night. The food was delicious, and a reasonable price, the courses were spaced out and you were not rushed. “Lovely restaurant. My sons went on a fishing trip & this restaurant was able to prepare the catch & cook it for a reasonable price for us for lunch. The staff were all polite & helpful. Fascinating watching them prepare the fish with skill before cooking. The covert bread was warm & fresh, nice butter & a selection of items you could choose & pay for the items you selected. Salads to accompany were fresh & plentiful. One of our party who does not eat fish had a steak it was well presented. Lovely view of the boats & harbour & people going by. Good fresh fish counter inside & plenty of ice on the fish. Definitely we will go back next time we are in the area & try more of their menu“
