I was a little apprehensive to come here as I don’t think the pictures do it justice! The fish is caught fresh & you can see them cooking it?? I had seabass and quite honestly say it’s the best seabass I’ve ever had. Tasted amazing! Also the fish soup to start was lovely so definitely recommend that too! They also allowed us to bring a cake & sang happy birthday with us!

Amazing. They show you the fish and then grill it for you. De-boned if you like. My friend said the Turbot was the best he's had.

Been coming here for 20 years and always wonderful. Great food and one of the oldest restaurants in Alvor with a lovely atmosphere and great service.
Nice restaurant with a wooden grill in front of the door. Very nice host. I immediately asked whether we wanted the card in English or German.Had sardines Algarve style (headless, butterfly cut, rolled in flour and fried, onion and carrot strips) different than expected but delicious - on the boss's advice, drizzled with a little olive oil and vinegar.Then we treated ourselves to grilled tuna with jacket potatoes and salad (ordered medium...and actually got medium, fantastic.mmmhhh, drizzled with lemon butter). In terms of price, it was the cheapest evening of the last week.

Per toeval hier uit eten geweest. We hadden de zeeduivel spies & zalm spies. Met heerlijke knapperige frietjes én een klein schaaltje salade , vooraf mijn vriend n tomaten soep. Die was niet zo denderend.... héél dik én flauw. Géén garnituur. Ik had de " vis " soep maar dat was meer gekookte & fijngemalen kabeljauw. Smaak was wél prima maar mistte beetje vis variatie in de soep. En iets van Stokbrood met kruidenboter.De vis spiezen waren lekker van smaak en vers. Pluspunt is dat álles op de houtskool bbq gaat ! Ruikt heerlijk. Restaurant zat vol. Érg populaire schijnbaar.De zelfgemaakte cheesecake was Écht yummie. Vriendelijk personeel. Maar de porties hadden wat royaler mogen zijn. Het smaakte naar meer. Leuk restaurantje !

Back again and keep trying other places but for quality and consistency Arco can't be beaten. The fish is always fresh and the meat dishes really tasty.
Some of the best fish we have ever had. Excellent quality and value for money. The Tiger prawns were incredible.

We haven't been in Alvor since 2019, and were looking forward to several visits to this fantastic restaurant during our recent holiday. We weren't disappointed. Marco and Ricardo warmly welcomed us and it was like we had never left. The whole grilled fish was better than we remembered and we are looking forward to next year already. This is a "must visit" restaurant when in Alvor. Be sure to book in advance though!

We have been spending our summer vacation in Alvor for many years and for the past three years we have been coming again in the fall with the whole family. For the summer we are already booking our table from home in this typical restaurant with excellent fish and great service. For us, this end of the day is always a highlight.
Kid-friendliness: Our grandchildren feel very comfortable here in autumn and enjoy watching Ricardo grilling. There are no language barriers here ?

Absolutely the freshest best tasting fish in Alvor! Of course it helps that Marco de-bones the fish prior to serving it. We enjoyed Golden Bream and Sole, both of which were grilled absolutely perfectly by Ricardo. We also had the Portuguese Steak and Grilled Prawns which were excellent as well. Service is impeccable as is the ambience, whether you sit inside or outside. Outside is our preference, but they are so busy, it is impossible to get a seat out there unless you make reservations far in advance.
