If you're staying in Alvor it's a definite must. The food was delicious, the alrgarve fish soup to start was fab had steak one night and the sole another both we're delicious. But the real thing that made it was the staff they were so warm and welcoming, attentive without being too much, so good. Gorgeous setting aswell. 5stars!!!

Best restaurant we have visited since been in Alvor. Three of us had dinner here last night. Fillet steak, salmon, cod and shrimp all were excellent. Finished off with crepe Suzette, a must. All the staff are very friendly and make you feel like old friends. A must visit for this area.

Nice older style restaurant, a bit different to the majority of restaurants in the town of Alvor. Monkfish Cataplana for mains was nice, prawn cocktail was decent. Giving it 3 stars due to the rudeness of one particular waiter - Mariano. Rude, ignorant and unfriendly throughout and in complete contrast to the other waiters who served us throughout our meal. According to one of the friendly waiters, it turns out he (Mariano) is now the boss man for the service staff. Candido who used to work here is sorely missed.
Por do Sol is a great eating experience. Great food and very enjoyable staff. Every visit enforces our enjoyment there..

Absolutely lovely find on the outskirts of Alvor and highly recommended, even if you are staying all inclusive somewhere.
Great menu, excellent mix of options including some Portuguese specialities and obviously great seafood. Service was excellent and everyone extremely friendly and welcoming. Daughter is a coeliac and all the staff very knowledgeable about gluten free options, so a very relaxing meal.
Visit if you are in Alvor, you won't regret!

Our family of four, 2 adults and 2 children (11 & 15) turned up at this beautiful restaurant purely by accident because the restaurant we tried to go to (Big Red) was all shut down. So glad we did, we had a wonderful time and the food was marvellous. My husband and I had a starter of fish soup, flavours was lovely. Fillet steak, Chicken in Mushroom Sauce and the Sole all delighted are tastebuds. My daughter loved the Lemon Meringue Pie and my son loved watching them make the Crepe Suzette which he happily polished off his plate. My husband and I finished off our meal with an Espresso Martini, yummy.We were very well looked after by all the waiters and their outdoor seating area was a wonderful backdrop for photo's. As the evening began to get a bit chilly the waiter bought my daughter a very soft blanket to wrap around her to keep the chill off, I have never known service like this it was second to none. If you are in the Alvor this restaurant is a must if you want to experience Portugal at its best.
