“An exceptional place for those who enjoy eating typical Alentejo cuisine, prepared by Chef Saudade Campião, and served by Mr. Jorge, an immeasurably friendly couple. Anyone who visits Beja cannot miss trying it, however I advise you to make a reservation in advance.“

“Quiet restaurant in the center of Beja where food is well prepared. We chose grilled sirloin steak and black pork neck, both were very tasty! The lady even offered us a saucer with migas to taste ? In addition to the dishes, we ordered bread, olives, butter, soup, 1.5L water, 1 dessert and coffees… Total €44. ?“

“Always excellent! The pork and salad with the incredible seasoned olive oil dressing is just fantastic. The home made rice pudding dessert was also just sublime with a taste of cinnamon. Fantastic, tasty hearty food. And at a great price. If you are in or around Beja, seek this placeb out, its just a couple of kilometers out of town but it is so worth the trip. Highly recommended.
Parking: Easy, plenty and free.“

“This place is fantastic! We stopped in on our way through town and were thrilled to find a vegetarian restaurant with clean, high quality food at great prices! It’s cafeteria style where you choose how much of each item you want - hot, cold, salad, fruit, rissois, empanadas, etc - and pay by weight. Many vegan option. Highly recommend.“

“When we visited only the small room to the rear of the restaurant was open and we were lucky to get a table as we hadn't booked, others who came later were not so fortunate. We had well prepared basic food which was of good quality and more than ample size. The staff were friendly and courteous, all in all a good experience which we are happy to recommend.“

“Quick and very friendly service. Very good starters (I particularly liked the octopus salad). Good choice of fish, which is visible on the display. Very good preparation and in a generous dose. It has a very good white wine on tap. There are also meat dishes I heard being praised at the next table. Good price/quality ratio. I repeated and recommend.“
“Pleasant space with homemade food. We opted for the two dishes of the day: Bacalhau à Braz and Feijoada à Brasileira, good presentation and very well served. For dessert we tried the meringue ice cream and the trilogy of red fruits, homemade and very tasty, coffees and a 28 euro bill.Very attentive and friendly staff.Visit to repeat on a next visit to Beja.“
“Best sandwich I have ever had in my entire life. This sandwich alone is worth moving to Portugal for. Seriously get on a plane right now and come have the Bifana sandwich. P.s: To Maria Matias who gave this place 2 stars because the sandwich is not served on a plate, you are an idiot and Jesus is not happy with how you review restaurants.“
“This little gem I presume is mainly patronised by locals and with good reason; the food is fantastic. The BBQ chicken with pork piri piri sauce on the side accompanied by a salad and washed down with beer was delicious. The cook also served as the waiter and his service was impeccable.“

“Delicious schnitzels. Isn't really Portuguese but they were delicious. The service is very nice and attentive. The price is very low. Less than €15 per person for the schnitzel with fries, 2 glasses of wine, mixed salad, bread, olives and an espresso. “

“It is one of the oldest restaurants still in operation in Beja. Better known as Pereira to locals. It's part of the story of the beginning of many well-watered nights out. Simple and uncomplicated house. Simple and effective menu with snacks and regional products that stand out. Food always tasty and well prepared. In November/December it is possible to enjoy the talha wine.“
“Thank you very much for this fantastic experience. We were on our honeymoon, strolling around in a cabriolet from Seville to Lisbon when we came across this very, like VERY local place on a hillside three minutes from the highway. Serving was fast and sweet, the food was...great for a diner and the beer cold. Images of the local football team on the walls - what more can you wish for? We paid around 20 € for two hot meals, desert and a couple of cold Portuguese beer.“

“During a few days that I spent on vacation in Beja, I had the opportunity to have breakfast at this establishment. Friendly employees, clean and pleasant place and everything up to standard, but nothing extraordinary... I ordered a puff pastry and a half of milk.“

“I was in Beja spending a few days on vacation with my family. This restaurant was a good discovery, recommended by friends: located in a beautiful square in the city, where you can park easily (for a fee), magnificent food (one day we ordered secrets and the next, panados) and attentive service. We always had lunch after 2pm and the atmosphere was very peaceful. The only thing I disliked was the TV on CMTV, with news of crimes playing... That ruined the atmosphere a little ?. I hope they can improve this aspect ???.“

“This place was a gem of a find. It was very quiet when we walked by at 7pm on a weeknight, but looked interesting so we went in. The owner came to serve us, as he spoke some English, and he was a jovial fellow, passionate about his food. We basically let him bring us stuff and were not disappointed. The best was the wild boar procuitto but everything was great. For the two of us with couvert, two main dishes, drinks and desserts it was 48 euro which we thought was well worth it.“

“Very old tea house, which changed location years ago to respond to demand due to the conventual sweets it makes. A reference place in Beja for lovers of these delicacies made with eggs, sugar and almonds. It is impossible to pass through Beja and not visit the Maltesinhas“

“Located in the center, very well located. Traditional food extremely well prepared. We ate pork cheeks, the meat was meltingly tender, buzios feijoada, delicious, and meat crumbs that were wonderful. We finished with a sericaia that was fresh. I highly recommend it.“
“When you enter you cannot imagine the surprise you will get when eating. We ordered a very good secret, but the asparagus scramble was incredible, a ten. Very good price, terrace in case you go with a dog and very very pleasant. You can't leave without trying the cheese dessert.“

“Every time I go to Beja I go to Forno. The food is as delicious as you can find these days. The Cod is delicious with homemade potato chips. The migas are a delicacy from the Gods and the Alentejana pork tastes exactly like what I ate at my grandmother's house... Oh and the homemade sweets... divine!
Alentejo-style pork with migas + 1 imperial + house sweet + coffee = 15€“

“Dining during Ovibeja week is always challenging but the service was quick and friendly and food delicious. We spoke with other diners on adjacent tables some of whom are regulars and their experience was excellent too. We will return next time we are in Beja. Tip: choco frito & bochechas are to die for ?“

“We stumbled upon this hidden gem as we were walking through Beja and were looking for a lunch place. Delicious local dishes - we had a peasant style lamb stew with potatoes, that was a favourite of our toddler, and Alentejano porc with clams, both very flavourful and tender! Cosy atmosphere and attentive service.“

“Really enjoyed this restaurant. There is a small menu choice but what was offered was lovely. The waitress deserves special mention, though only speaking Portuguese she tried hard to communicate with everyone no matter what language they spoke. I was sorry that the restaurant does not attract that many customers. We returned as we loved the food.“
