O Lavrador (Restaurante o Lavrador)

Lovely restaurant. I have a medical condition which makes choosing suitable dishes very challenging. Sam & Nick went out of their way to accommodate my restrictions without me feeling like a nuisance. My fish was delicious. There was only one desert suitable for me (a very yummy lime pud) but I am quite confident that if that hadn’t been on the menu they would have russled up something to suit me. That’s customer service!

I can't say anything new. Still the best restaurant for miles. Fabulous food, wine and service. Sam and Nick are brilliant hosts and the food is superb especially the desserts. I wish I'd taken a photo today, but I'd scoffed it all by the time I remembered...

Eten is perfect. Bediening is gedeeltelijk in opleiding. Niet de goedkoopste, maar de moeite zeker waard. Voor herhaling vatbaar.

Great lunch meal, we had special of the day venison fillet cooked perfectly.Really enjoyed the experience.We travelled over 45 mins but worth the drive.Watched you on new life in the sun.Enjoy the experience.You’ll do very well.Service and food very high standards, we’ll be back.

It's always lovely and it's recommended that you book in advance. We went on Sunday afternoon straight from the airport and we were very lucky to get a table. Food excellent.

Upon entering O Labrador we were immediately enthralled with the purposeful rural / agriculture decor . Having said that the white linen tablecloths and the generous spacing of tables give it a quiet, not stuffy elegance . The huge hearth with its glowing embers adds tremendously to the ambiance.On our first visit Sam, co-chef and co owner, welcomed us warmly and spent time filling us in on the history of the building before our sumptuous meal.My wife had the perfectly cooked belly of pork and I enjoyed the Irish angus roast beef. Both came with a delicious, baked to perfection Yorkshire pudding. We were also treated to beautifully hot, al dente, green beans, carrots, cabbage and roasted potatoes; which in one review were described as “under cooked”. (Perhaps the menu at the “Golden Arches” might better suit that reviewer ?)This IS a real gem. We’ve eaten there twice and are looking forward to our next visit .
