Respect.

We were climbing the urban hills of Lisbon, starting to learn the topography and neighborhoods of the city, and found ourselves famished and slightly exhausted in a semi-commercial street of the Barrio Alta. A few cafes punctuated the flat residential facades with tables spilling into the streets; we picked this one for no particular reason, perhaps that the friendly proprietor allowed us to peruse the menus as best we could, slowly, and only offered insights when we asked. But ask we did, and we sat down and were served some grilled fish, new to us, and we've eaten a lot of fish. The preparation was perfect, the fish fell from the bone, and the combination of char from the grill, and moisture and flavor in the white fish, made for a perfect meal. The meat side of the menu was also thoroughly developed, and traditional appetizers were swiftly on the table prepared by a deft hand. No doubt some excellent talent in the kitchen, and access to varied and fresh local ingredients. Not much was made of wine service, but a servicable bottle at a very reasonable price kept our minds on the food, service and streetscape. Among the most casual restaurants we ate at, it was also among the best. We left restored and ready to out-climb the 28 tram as needed to explore some more.
This was a great find for very authentic Portuguese food . You would expect a restaurant like this in a small town in the hills in the middle of the country. Not in metropolitan Lisbon. If you like blood sausage I would highly recommend giving it a try . I had the pork which was delicious and the desserts were special local dishes. One was a squash cake and the other involved nuts .

We arrived at almost 4 in the afternoon and he treated us very kindly. The best bar in Caminha and in Portugal, if you are doing the Camino de Santiago it is a place where you must stop.Very good price and better service, in addition to his friendliness and the good atmosphere in his place.

We ordered snails, which were excellently seasoned, gizzards that had a thick and spicy sauce, and one of the best nails on bread I've ever eaten (incredibly tender meat).Excellent tavern in the far north of Portugal.

Cozy atmosphere, very good typical Portuguese food! The best nail, without a doubt, but the hamburgers are not far behind either. If you're on the way, I strongly advise ??

Good experience. I advise. I had puma pizza and the salads I saw passing by looked very good.
Kid-friendliness: As it has a terrace, children like it more.

An authentic place, a cook and a waitress who are unbeatable in everything...good food, good prices and the Portugal that makes you come back again and again...Great
The excellent food, Manel's good disposition and D Fatima's availability, will be interrupted by the well-deserved vacation at Tasca do Manel…. I await with some anxiety in my stomach… and “frank camaraderie” between customers, the brand image of this space… for the reopening on September 4th!… happy holidays Manel, D Fatima and Isabel.
