Very nice place - stylish, good atmosphere, very accommodating service - nice people. Very nice food. We will come again!

Very disappointing. Something has changed as it was an excellent restaurant last year. Our waiter was not friendly, some ingredientes missing from some dishes, starters were removed without asking and we were still eating. It was quite pricey for what we received. There are better restaurants in the area for much less money. The view is wonderful though!

I come to this restaurant every year on holidays - the worst experience ever!! 45 mins before we got a drink, and nearly 2 hours before the main course. This was after ordering my starter, which after 15 mins of ordering, was told no longer available. Main course came out cold and raw….Absolute anwful experience and will not return!

We happened across Boca do Mar while exploring São Martinho do Porto and it was a good experience overall. The restaurant was quite barren due to bad weather, but the service and food did not lack. We shared two dishes for lunch: the first was a tamboril (monkfish) and shrimp skewer, and the second an octopus salad. The skewer was packed with seafood, peppers & onions, and served with a generous side of potatoes, carrots, beans, broccoli and cauliflower. The octopus salad was both flavorful and plentiful and, although an appetizer, more than enough for a full meal! The service was attentive and kind. We would return again the next time we are in the area.

Was very much looking forward to watching our last sunset in Nice at this restaurant. Sat down next to a table who was completely finished with their meal and closing out when we hadn’t even received our main course. It took and hour and a half to receive our food. Our order was so simple.. ONE octopus tail and chilled, sliced tuna as an app. Called the manager over who explained our entire meal (tapas and main course) was given to another table. When asked how we could resolve this issue as we were starving, he offered 11 euro off the total bill (which was more than 100 euro total including a nice bottle of wine). Manager also seemed irritated I was complaining and asking for him to rectify the situation. An hour and a half later we received chewy octopus and salty sliced tuna. Review their menu carefully before you go, as it is also very small.

I’ve been visiting SMP for 15 years. I really loved Boca when it first opened, offering gourmet type authentic Portuguese food. It has recently changed hands and unfortunately standards have slipped badly. I’m happy to pay premium prices for good food and service, but…. Couvert was €5.80, but didn’t include bread? That was €2 extra - nowhere on the menu! A glass of wine - again, not priced, was poured with no specified volume. I was poured a tiny glass which was topped up when I queried it. I was served the wrong dish and when I questioned it,received the correct one. It was very bland, the fish was over cooked an definitely not worth the inflated price. I won’t be back!

A bit put off at the pricing, but we wanted to try this restaurant. 6.80euro for Perrier and 5+ euro for bread service seems a bit much. The starter was good - Pears with figs and nuts. My wife had shrimp and muscle pasta and it was really good. I had the polvo (octopus) as it is one of my favorites. It came a bit cold, super tough and badly overcooked, like it had sat on the plate and been reheated. I couldn't eat it. I brought it to the attention of the waitress, she comped one dessert. Didn't seem right for a botched 23 euro meal. There are many fine family owned restaurants in Sao Martinho run by people who deeply care about their customers and the food they serve. I would advise a pass on this place and walk up to the older part of town and have a meal made with care.

Amazing setting with excellent food and great service. We had lunch here recently and LOVED the food and service. The view is exceptional as was every other aspect of our meal. It’s worth going out of your way to eat here, not that you have to.

I don't think restaurant staff realise how unpleasant it is for potential customers when waiting staff are standing right in the doorway at lunchtime smoking. This is not a cheap cafe. I expect better.

What a lovely evening we had at this waterfront restaurant. We arrived before the restaurant officially opened and the owner could not have been more gracious and welcoming. We ate outside even though it was a little brisk and had some wonderful champagne/white sangria cocktails that were the specialty of the house. All four entrees were delicious and the owner seemed genuinely happy for our business. And the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food.

Sao Martinho do Porto have many good places to eat. Boca do Mar is one of the best. If you get there before sunset you are in for special treat, the sun sets in the middle of the bay. The food is excellent, my favorite is the grill seabass. My wife enjoyed the grill steak, it was cook to perfection. The food and service great. The ambiance is fantastic, eat here several times. I hope ighly recommend this place.

Stopped at the lovely beach at São Martinho do Porto on the way down to Lisbon and after looking at the different places to lunch decided on Boca do Mar as it was reasonably priced, it had nice views out to sea, the menu was good and they had outside tables. No lunch deals but nothing is too expensive. Started with the prawn bisque which was absolutely delicious, light with a few prawns and croutons in the bisque and only €2.95 , just gorgeous, just the right amount of seasoning - perfection. Fish main course was excellent, both were cooked perfectly, lovely white meat, so very fresh , the bone came away from the sole easily, the sea bass cooked with garlic and lemon a lovely dish and the bonus of potatoes, green beans and carrots made it a very healthy plate. Everything was well executed, looked great and full of flavor. I was very impressed with the standard of the cooking. Top marks to the chef ! Wine was well priced from €14, total including water came to €51.30 and such amazing value for the quality of the food. Service was jolly and friendly , it's a big restaurant so it may be different when they are busy but I'm sure they would deal with it and continue to offer such amazing food.

This is not my first review of this restaurant. However myself and my wife have re- visited this restaurant twice in the passed few weeks. On both occasions we have found the quality of the food, the choice of wine and the staff to be exceptional. I would certainly have no problems to recommend this restaurant, whatever your cuisinal choices are. We'll done and thank you
