“We stayed at Quinta de la Rosa, where the restaurant is located, and we ate dinner and breakfast. It was really delicious and very tasty. Beautifully decorated and served with good service. And the view! Absolutely fantastic. We chose VTG white wine Reserva, which was significantly better than the local wine.
Dietary restrictions: There are vegetarian dishes and the waiter asked about allergies.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a lift and parking close by.“

“We reserved a table at "1896" during our vacation to celebrate our engagement. The Google reviews about this restaurant and also the recommendations we received locally for the "1896" are really no exaggeration. We enjoyed a wonderful evening with exquisite cuisine (classic 3-course menu) and excellent and very attentive service. Many thanks for the wonderful evening to the whole team at "1896".“

“Well prepared, typically Portuguese regional cuisine. Good wine list.
Well located space with an extraordinary view over the Douro
Friendly and efficient service.
Very popular on weekends, which leads to the exhaustion of several options on the menu, which are not very extensive,
Parking: Free own parking and plenty of space nearby
Kid-friendliness: Very spacious both inside and outside.“

“High class restaurant from Rui Paula. Not sure what criteria this is missing to not have a star in the red book, but special things happen here.
Somellier is knowledgeable and engaging. Wines run the full spectrum from affordable to hilarious, and everything in between. Good selection by the glass as well including some special ones by the corovin, which is a nice way to splash out a bit without remortgaging or contacting a broker.
Beautiful view right on the river. This is the absolute definition from the guide of worth a special visit.“
“We had a gorgeous meal here tonight, in a restaurant seemingly full of locals. The food was good quality local food, so really good fish (we had sea bass and a stew of shrimps and bread). Starters were good too, a fresh salad and a stuffed mushroom dish. The setting is nice, clean and modern, and the staff were great, including a waiter who spoke excellent English which we appreciated. We were really glad to have stepped out of our hotel and found this restaurant.“

“A typical Portuguese restaurant but with a touch of refinement and extra flavor. A great gastronomic experience to try in Alijó. We ordered the house steak and pork cheeks and everything was wonderful and full of flavor. The meat was tender and juicy. The mushroom soup is delicious! For dessert, a tasty chocolate mousse, a canilla de leche cream with ice cream and an excellent olive oil pudding. I recommend trying them all. A pleasant experience to repeat.“

“Chef Thomas Egger welcomed us and made us pleasantly acquainted. The menu was explained so that we could order the dishes as desired.
Starter was a simple salad for two people: due to the freshness of the products, this simple salad was still great.
We both had the grilled sea bream as our main course. Also very tasty.
We especially loved the Vinho Verde, Thomas Egger's own product, which, slightly sour and softly sparkling, perfectly matched our dishes and the summer weather.
There is also a cozy atmosphere in the restaurant.“
“Best brazilian feijoada I've eaten so far in Lisbon! Delicious food, generous serving, and a menu which everything you may crave for, from dadinhos de tapioca to brigadeiro de colher. Staff is really nice and helpfull. I'll be coming back for sure!“
“What can you say about this small corner that even in the center of the city manages to bring the calm of a village. The meeting point for people who like to talk and eat well, people from A Nossa Terra!!The owners are friendliness personified, always with a smile and masters of hospitality. We stop by here at least once a week, here the food tastes like grandma's house, it tastes like summer vacations in the countryside of adolescence and so many other good things. Try it, you won't regret it!“
“Traditional Portuguese food very tasty and well prepared. We went on tripe day. For those who like this dish from the North of the country, they were prepared in an exceptional way. They took me back to my childhood, to the flavors of the "double" made by my grandmother Violante. The women in my life (wife and daughters) preferred the mixed grill. It was made with very good meats, all very well grilled. The price is very good for the good quality of the food.It is worth trying when passing through Sanfins do Douro!“
“For the third time and it does not disappoint.
Perhaps they would propose a greater variety of wines to further enhance their very good cuisine.
Prior reservation required.
I recommend experience, still very genuine, with personality.
It's a food house, don't expect a restaurant.
Pets not allowed and I don't usually go to these types of establishments. In this case I made an exception, but please reconsider because their behavior is usually better than that of some children.“

“Probably one of the best restaurants in the area. They have everything: friendliness, speed, good dishes and hygiene. There are many dishes to choose from and they are all well served. The most popular will certainly be the post and the francesinha. Top ??“

“On our first evening in Pinhao I was perturbed to find that most of the bars closed, so was relieved to find O-Por-co open. My heart sank however when the beer tap gurgled its last just as we ordered and the barmaid advised that there was none left. Fortunately we found a bar across the road that was open, but I must say that my first impressions of Pinhao were very negative. The following evening, everything was open and I had to laugh when the barmaid gave me a cheeky smile and assured me that she had some beer on tap. This is a nice, simple bar that is clearly a favourite “local” pub. The atmosphere was friendly, the service was lovely and the beer is certainly very good when you can get it!“

“Tanya atanasova really sorry for any inconvenience but first of all you have the menu when you walked in the restaurant and you can see there is no wine list there.
You asked for a glass of wine and I said it couldn’t be possível only for drinks after you asked for a bottle of wine I carry on saying no because it’s a restaurant and is only for food and after of everything you asked me to eat so I said yes it’s possível.
You sat outside with the menus on the table and 2 minutes later you walked away so not our fault.
It’s funny how people can describe arguments without saying all the truth.
You’re always welcome to “have food” not drinks only for that you have the bar downstairs many thanks.“

“Some of the most amazing Portuguese I’ve had. We were a big group sharing two sirloin steaks, the salmon and mango dish, beans, rice and potatoes. All the flavours combined delightfully and all the meat and local veg are produced organically within the valley. Great place for a casual dinner and a great homely vibe.“

“Mixed feelings honestly - we actually thought the food was pretty tasty (aside from the desserts, which weren't on the same level), and we liked being able to choose each course on the prix-fixe menu. But for this price you're hoping for more than 'pretty tasty', while the service unfortunately was mostly just competent, and fairly impersonal tbh. We had much better, friendlier dining experiences pretty much everywhere else in Portugal. But here's the thing... the location IS stunning. That's mostly what you're paying for.“
