“Comida típica portuguesa. Arroz caldoso, frango, pinchos de carne tipo pinchos asados brasileros, linguisa, ...y los postres más típicos: baba de camello, siricaia, pasteis de belem y todas esas delicatessens. Para mi, un sitio de referencia y un imprescindible de la comida portuguesas. Tiene unos salones enormes y un servicio muy atento. Estáis tardando en ir.“

“We went on the recommendation of a friend and the truth is that it was an incredible experience. We didn't know what to order and the waiter recommended the grilled squid and the grilled lizard. Large quantities, with the two dishes to share and a dessert, two people ate. Very well priced. To highlight the attention and treatment of the staff. To put a but, say that it took a while to serve us, but if you are in no hurry it is worth it, because you can tell that they cook everything at the moment.“

“We popped in the door for wine and bingo. We found a charming place, where we were treated very kindly, and we tried a Verdejo from the Estremoz area that tasted great. The site is an old horse stable, converted into a tavern, with remains of an ancient wall and original arched columns. We haven't ordered food, so we'll have to come back to see it.“
“Perfect restaurant in Santa Cruz town. Perfect food, perfect service. Martin ( our guide in the restaurant ) was very pleasunt and helpful with the wine decision and food. We tried grilled limpets, octopus taver style, steak tavern style. All dished were very delicious. For sure need to try and ask Martin! ❤️?“

“Amazing locale right outside castle, only tapas when we went but were delicious. Make sure you ask for their homemade piri piri. And check out the shop in the back. Owner is a ceramics artist with pieces in contemporary museum in Lisboa and Elvas. Worth a stop for sure!“

“I could almost hear the laughter in the response to our email, 6 weeks in advance of our departure for Lisbon, requesting a booking for lunch; we're totally booked out. So, we took the ferry and walked the long walk along the waterfront and just turned up, with an hour to go before the advertised closing time and that Fickle Finger of Fate (as they used to say on Laugh In) smiled down on us and a table was found. The legend and the hype (thanks Phil) paled into insignificance, compared to the real thing. The food was exquisite, the location, the setting, the friendly staff, the sun shining and sparkling on the water. It was definitely worth taking a chance and I'd do it again in an instant. A truly memorable dining experience.“

“A restaurant worth revisiting. Despite being frequented by many tourists, the menu is rich in Portuguese cuisine. The service is highly efficient, the food presentation deserves high praise, and our choices lived up to expectations. The price is very reasonable.“

“They don't take reservations, but we had no problem finding a table. The staff is scarce but they were very attentive and advised us well. The seared cod was very delicious, the clams too and we ate an exquisite sea bass, cooked on the grill. Very good homemade desserts. We saw that the people who arrived later had to wait a little for the food,“

“The food is wonderful and the service is excellent. Calm environment where we can taste good Portuguese food served in generous portions. We ordered 3 dishes and they were all extraordinary: Bacalhau à Bras, Carne de pork à Alentejana and bacalhau na tile. We loved being served by Ana who was super friendly and kind. Definitely one of the best options in Elvas“

“On a Saturday night, after having crossed the Iberian peninsula, I arrive in Elvas for dinner around 9pm and I am disappointed when I am refused a meal in 2 very well-known restaurants in the city.
But, as there are evils that come with good, I discovered this "oasis" of friendliness and divine food.
The owner is top notch, the food is 5 stars, the ambient music is very pleasant.
But what really brought me to my knees was the dessert. An almond and gila tart that I can easily classify as perhaps the best dessert I've ever had in a restaurant in my respected 50 years of life.
Congratulations Mr. António
I will definitely recommend it to all my friends“
