We were in the restaurant for the second time after 2022, and it was again worth a visit.
The food, we again had the cod dish for two people, was very tasteful. This time the potatoes weren't the country's typical, rather chip-like freshly fried potato chips (I prefer the typical ones, it's very individual).
The service is very attentive, as we speak Portuguese we had a very good attentive service. A little “inattentive” here and there, but not annoying if you don’t have to have everything perfect.
In summary, a nice and tasty dinner, I love coming back every few years, it's no longer quite the WOW experience of the first cod - but still a recommended address around Esposende.
Great value for money - especially the wine list and recommendation “…de la Rosa “Douro”, which went well with the dish.
Parking: No problem - enough free parking spaces
Kid-friendliness: As you are used to in Portugal, extremely hospitable and child-friendly??
Wheelchair accessibility: No problem

What an incredible experience! I ate the octopus and was delighted. The atmosphere is ideal for a relaxed lunch. To be repeated, without a doubt!

Restaurant on the banks of Cávado, far from the city of Esposende but relatively close by car (8 minutes). Inserted in a golf complex in the region, with open views of the fields and the river.
Several “good bed, good table” awards from Expresso, several years in a row.
The entrance is not well identified: apparently there will be two, but it is not clear where you enter the reception space, the restaurant or the terrace.
We arrived late (about 25 minutes), which led to the reception employee being a little rude in his treatment. One would expect this type of treatment if the house was full and the restaurant was wasting time/money on this. This was not the case: the restaurant had some tables occupied, but several others were also empty and remained empty throughout the entire dinner.
For starters, various qualities of bread, but they didn't seem fresh: little quantity for the number of people, it didn't seem like a complete loaf, but broken pieces of bread (served in a white fabric bag.
To accompany, a platter with 3 separators, one with mozzarella with olive oil, herb butter and toasted bread in the middle, again in small quantities.
The mozzarella was good, the herb butter too (although not everyone agreed, finding the butter to have a sour flavor)
For the main meal, we requested octopus, goose magret, marinated steak and 2 portions of pork shank (it was indicated that it would not be possible to serve half a shank, which forced the calculations to be changed).
The goose magret was accompanied by mushroom risotto, with good consistency and intense flavor, with a lot of creaminess. The octopus was equally good, well served on a bed of Japanese white cabbage.
The ham was what disappointed: firstly, the presentation of the dish leaves something to be desired: despite coming on a wooden board with vegetables, roasted potatoes and rice in the oven, the ham comes with a complete layer of fat on top, almost resembling a shell on top of the meat. I understand that some like it, but then I asked if it made sense to keep the layer of fat in the dish's presentation.
The fat was another problem with the dish: considering that the board has no edges, the fat from the meat ran off the board, dirtying the cloth tablecloth on the table. Unpleasant, to say the least.
For dessert, we tasted a strawberry trifle (quite tasty and intense, with a good presentation), custard cream in filo pastry (intense smell and creamy texture, with a good ratio of dough and cream and equally well toasted) and also a strawberry cake. biscuit and cream, which was very good, although it could get sickening.
In general, the presentation of the restaurant is pleasant, it has a large and spacious space, well lit, staff with knowledge of the restaurant.
Need to improve customer support (at your reception, they also left drinks far from the table and no longer served them)
In short, some points deserve improvement, and I expected more from such an award-winning restaurant good bed good table

We chose the buffet but the food was very dry, almost inedible, including the desserts. I don't recommend it, it was a disappointment.

A great meal accompanied by a stunning setting over Cávado.
In addition to the starters (prawn nests) and the main course (bacalhau à braga) being divine, the dessert (biscuit cake) was really the icing on the cake.
The team was very delicate and attentive.
An experience that is worth it, as a couple or as a family.

The dessert had a very high setting and the chocolate was bitter, it took a long time to be delivered, the steak was very hard and we asked for the music to be lowered and it was only on the third request that they lowered it a bit. But the view is beautiful over the Cávado River.
