“Everything is top here. The service is one of the best among all the Michelin restaurants I’ve been to so far and the price is very reasonable. The chef was super generous with the truffle and the girl working there was like sunshine. She’s very attentive and we had some really interesting conversation about our dogs! The food is nicely presented and the combination of texture and color is extraordinary. We had the signature menu and loved it. If you are lactose intolerance, the alternatives are also very good. Everything is just above expectation and definitely worth the price you pay.

Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating if you have any food restriction and the alternatives are amazing too.

Parking: The valet parking is simple and easy. No need to wait long.“

None of the desserts can be made vegan however they kindly whipped us up a chocolate mousse with red fruits, it was delicious. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Food is on the pricey side and has an upmarket feel. Beautiful view out to sea.“

Food good and complex cuisine. For the price range should be perfect. My wifes dish was Incredible good. Mine was steak and was overcooked and "potato mil folhas" slightly undercooked. “We had the pleasure of dining at Il Gallo d'Oro in Funchal and overall our experience was almost flawless. The sommelier was exceptionally competent and accompanied us perfectly through the evening with an impressive selection of wines. The service was attentive, friendly and always professional, which made our evening very pleasant.

The presentation of the food was of the highest standard – each dish was served with great attention to detail and was a real feast for the eyes. The kitchen presented us with consistently very good dishes, all of which tasted excellent. The quality and freshness of the ingredients were clearly noticeable, and the combinations were well thought out and harmonious.

Despite all these positive aspects, we were missing a certain highlight, a special kick that we are used to from other restaurants of this class. Maybe it was that last spark of creativity or that one dish that absolutely blew us away. Nevertheless, our visit to Il Gallo d'Oro was a culinary experience that we thoroughly enjoyed.
