My family and I have been eating at this place for YEARS. Honestly, visiting it for about 20 years, it is a place that we like to visit in Madeira.
Served in a family-friendly way, it has typical Madeiran food but homemade, very tasty. It is a highly recommended site.
The tentacles are very tasty and so is the cod in cream. If you are in the Ajuda area and want to delight in typical Madeiran food at a good price and with excellent service, this is your place!

The best restourant we have been during our 1 week travel of Madeira.From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff and the owner, whose kindness and hospitality made us feel right at home.The food was absolutely outstanding, arguably the best I've ever had. Should be in your list if you are looking for place to try all local foods.

Very good and inexpensive! All the service staff were attentive, very friendly and the fish dishes were great. The restaurant is located right on the main street and doesn't offer anything fancy...but we were there to eat. ????

Not a bad local cafe, tasty and inexpensive, especially if you take a non-tourist menu. Fish soup, garlic bread, appetizers - shrimp with garlic. The service is a little “absent-minded” :-) but if you ask, remind, they will do everything right away. The waiters are smiling. Lots of locals come for lunch. The terrace is small and stuffy inside. The desserts and coffee are delicious! The real food is much better than the rating here, 4.1 ?? The portions are normal, not small.
Not recommended. Even though we ordered well-done meat (skewers), it was still bloody even after the third return. Even a steak was still bloody and cold. The supplements were not shown on the menu. They then charged €2 per portion of fries or vegetables, but this was not pointed out beforehand. The innkeeper tried hard, but was still offended because we didn't want to pay for the skewers. They weren't edible for us. Then we got McNuggets from McDonald’s. We have never experienced anything like this on Madeira.

Unfortunately, the food is a 2 out of 10. Carelessly prepared, tasteless and the fillet has more than enough bones.It's a shame for the restaurant, as the waiters are very attentive and the view of the sea would be good for a fish restaurant.

Before I could order drinks and food, the host had already put out bread. Then I ordered a fish in garlic sauce;1. It was a garlic oil and not a sauce2. The garlic was burnt, making everything very bitter3. The fish itself was also quite burnt, especially the underside, which was completely black4. The dish was also very saltyAfterwards the host did not ask if everything had been made, only if we wanted dessert.I have added a photo, the photo clearly shows that the fish is burnt.

One mod/good experience. 2nd visit not so good. Ordered a tuna dish with sweetcorn, came without the sweetcorn. When I told the writer he was disinterested. Shrugged shoulders. No apology or enquiry. Food was bland. However, steak was good. Set at side of busy road.
