We stopped for coffee & cake as we had walked past on a previous day & the cakes looked scrumptious. They tasted as good as they looked & the coffees were great. My daughter said the lemon meringue tart was as good as her own with lovely marshmallowy meringue.

We just had a lovely pit stop at this place. Ordered a coffee smoothie, two of the toasta dishes. The pesto, fresh cheese and sun dried tomato one. And the caramelised onion and Brie one. Both delicious and perfect for our after hike lunch/snack. Sadly I only took a photo when I’d cut them up and started eating, I couldn’t resist. An absolute gem of a place amongst the hotel bars and typical tourist ‘pubs’ For something different and delicious this is the place. It also had waffles and cakes. We took macarons to go as well. Sadly we’ve only ventured here near the end of our holiday - but hoping to squeeze in another visit before we leave.

Stopped here on a walk into Funchal for an espresso and cake, was amazed that an espresso was only €0.8. Very strong, much better than coffee we have had elsewhere in Madeira. The cake and macaroons were stunningly good.
