I came to this restaurant because it had good reviews both on Google and other sites. I believe that there must have been a recent change in the chefs or management of the restaurant because my experience did not correspond at all with what I see in the comments of other customers who have been to this restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful, tidy and with a calm atmosphere, the staff are friendly but I didn't find them very helpful or in a good mood. After we placed the order, the food didn't take long but the quality left a lot to be desired. Even a lot! Entrance limpets: very tough, unappetizing sauce. Main dishes: Unsalted swordfish with a consistency that made you believe it wasn't very fresh. Very flavorless side dishes: a potato, a sweet potato, an unseasoned salad. Regional kebab was good (and was the only highlight of the experience), tender meat, however the accompaniment was fries of very poor quality (the frozen kind, but the worst). This would be bad in itself, but considering that the price of the dishes is high, it becomes even more serious. Around €20 per main dish. We were very disconsolate and still spent a lot of money. Unfortunately I don't recommend it!

Small little restaurant tucked away behind the garden. We had Scabbard fish in wine and octopus. Food was delicious, waitress was smiley (rare in Madeira). The only thing we were not fan of was the dessert, it was not for our taste.

So first and foremost the food we had was very nice and the wine from Seixal (Madeira) was lovely. The bread, starter and main all arrived in good time and the waiter up to that point was very professional. It was after the main meal that it went down hill…. We were completely ignored, almost like we were invisible! Two other couples managed to order a dessert and get their bills and us, on the other hand were ignored. After waiting 35 minutes I went up to the counter but was ignored so I sat back down and finally managed to catch the attention of a waiter and asked for our bill. We waited another 10 minutes then finally, after 45 minutes in total I got up and asked for our bill from the drinks counter only to be charged for the other couple’s dessert!!! When I asked the waiter about our bill, he patronisingly asked, “what do you think it is madam?” Not our dessert as we weren’t even offered one! I’m not sure why restaurants leave you waiting so long to give them money, probably shouldn’t have bothered.
