What a great little place to eat. Full of Portuguese people. We felt so welcomed. The atmosphere and the chef are so charming. When we finished our bacalho(?) they always served a new portion. The lapas were amazing and fresh as was the sandwich with steak. Cannot recommend this place enough. Amazing.

Great place to try typical Madeira food where the market vendors eat it. Excellent swordfish (sablefish) battered with egg, fried swordfish roe, tuna with onions and limpets.Also the special bowl. The truth is that we ate a little more than necessary, but it was very good. There was a man at the bar who spoke Spanish and helped us with what we wanted to order and recommended some things to us. I don't know if it was the owner or family, or just a customer, but he was very good to us.
