Botequim is a hidden gem offering great foods at great prices. Known for its authentic, beautifully presented dishes and large portions, it attracts both locals and tourists. The restaurant features veggy options with seitan, large cups of warm Gingina, and friendly staff. The entrance is a bit hidden, and the toilet might be shabby, but the food and atmosphere make up for it. Visitors can enjoy various puff pastries and sometimes sit outside near the belvedere, adding to the charm. Though the staff may not speak perfect English, they are helpful, and the prices are very affordable. The place is small and cozy, with old-school furniture that could use an update for better function. Despite some cleanliness issues, especially with the urinal, the food is very nice and the place is iconic. After a meal, guests can take a walk to Jardim da Graca for a beautiful city view, making Botequim a wonderful choice for good food and a pleasant experience.
