“Great food, great service, very friendly staff. We have rarely eaten so deliciously and well. From the starter (mussels) to the main course with fish and meat skewers to the creme Catalan and apple pie, everything was simply fantastic. The menu is in Portuguese, French, English and German. The staff speaks fluent English. Our children and we really enjoyed it. We can absolutely recommend this restaurant. Please make a reservation!“
“Our favorite restaurant in Portugal. We called and made a reservation in advance as that appears to be required. My husband loved the cream of spinach soup and the pork tenderloin with orange sauce and I enjoyed the filet with an olive oil rosemary sauce. We also both liked the salad they served with the meal. We liked it so much we made a reservation for the next night while we were at the restaurant.“

“Super good food,
Super good service
And a really nice view.
The starter, main course and dessert were unusual and incredibly tasty.
There's nothing to complain about except that unfortunately my stomach couldn't fit any more of the great food.“

“We went to eat and thought it was a little expensive for the quality, even though the food was not bad.
We ordered nachos with guacamole, a burger and a pizza.
The guacamole was very delicious, it was homemade. The normal burger and pizza.
We paid €50 with 4 beers.“

“Good range of hot and cold Tapas. Loved the Garlic Potatoes, Tuna and bean salad, Chorizo Croquettes (Ceasar salad was swimming in dressing, I'd pass on that though) Good service, friendly and attentive staff. We sat inside, near the door, lovely breeze in 30 degree temperature. Just a little too expensive for what it was.“

“A tiny place, with a gentle giant behind the bar. Whizzing up a fresh batch as we walk in the door. “It’s the best” he says confidently. And it was excellent. Also the custardy/cinnamony flan with sugar syrup plums was to die for. I love these little places. Real personality. 5-stars in my book.“

“While we waited for a table, they offered us a snack at the counter, a tradition of the house, it seems.
Meanwhile, a group from Cante Alentejano started what would be the soundtrack to our lunch, full of friendliness, professionalism and art.
The typical and tasty food and even the delicious raspberry ice cream left us wanting to come back.
The entire surroundings of the establishment, steeped in history and tradition, which according to those present have been around for hundreds of years, is very pleasant for those who appreciate the preservation of the region's customs and rurality.
I highly recommend it!“

“Everything was so good that I forgot to take photos of what we ordered. It was a gazpacho soup that was very tasty, asparagus crumbs with egg and sausage (the sausage came separately, which is great for those who don't eat meat like me), and some equally wonderful strips of pota, all accompanied by white wine. . Dessert was sericaia (different from the traditional one and I don't know which one I'm a bigger fan of).
We stayed on the outdoor terrace, one of those typical Alentejo nights (windless, hot and with a starry sky).
Equally good service and service.“
“Very welcoming staff, the starters are excellent, the main dishes are excellent, the lobster rice is extraordinary, and the lamb chops are recommended, the desserts are delicious, the lemon cake with ice cream is a good taste experience, at night the freshness and silence, with an orange liqueur, and your feet on the grass are a unique relaxing experience at sunset
Parking: Quite spacious“

“What I call homemade food. Without a doubt, all the ingredients come from there, from that land next to the Alqueva water. The flavor of Alentejo is present in everything. Another thing that is present is friendliness and simplicity.A big thank you and I will be back!“

“Foral MDXII in Monsaraz offers a dining experience that's hard to beat, especially with its breathtaking view of the old town on the hill. We started with olives and local cheese, both of which were amazing. For the main course, the Iberico pork cheek with wine sauce and potato crisps was super juicy and tender. The chunk of veal with crisps and coleslaw was equally impressive. The local red wines, both the light and strong varieties, were delicious and paired perfectly with our meal. We ended with a warm, amazing brownie that we shared. The staff were great and mostly very proficient in English, adding to the enjoyable experience (€60). Highly recommend Foral MDXII for a memorable meal in Monsaraz!“

“Arrived 20 minutes before our reservation and our table was already free. The service was very friendly from the start and downplayed any disruptions with funny jokes. The food was great and was delivered quickly. All of the food tasted fresh and was very delicious. Always ask about vegetarian items as they are not always shown correctly on the menu.“
