“What a delightful find. It might not have the views (or the prices) of the coffee places on the beach however the coffee here was absolutely delicious as was the freshly squeezed orange juice. Both became a daily routine. The owner, who's name I do not know, was absolutely charming. We loved this place and where else can you find 2 cafe con leite (coffees with milk), a freshly squeezed orange juice, and a croissant for just over 5 euro! Great place.“
“My favourite chicken piri piri in Algarve with amazing tomato salad. Everything was delicious, as always. There was a beautiful autumn decoration in the restaurant and I received fruit as a gift. These were the most delicious pomegranates I have ever eaten. Thank you very much :-) “

“On a weekend in January, we drove almost 25 km each way as it was the only restaurant or cafe open on Friday night...We were the only customers for dinner but nevertheless we were very well received and the food was very nice and the service was very friendly.Excellent quality/price ratio.
Vegetarian options: Few options but they existed.“

“While we waited for a table, they offered us a snack at the counter, a tradition of the house, it seems.
Meanwhile, a group from Cante Alentejano started what would be the soundtrack to our lunch, full of friendliness, professionalism and art.
The typical and tasty food and even the delicious raspberry ice cream left us wanting to come back.
The entire surroundings of the establishment, steeped in history and tradition, which according to those present have been around for hundreds of years, is very pleasant for those who appreciate the preservation of the region's customs and rurality.
I highly recommend it!“

“Spectacular food, bacalao dr la casa is wonderful, the best I have ever eaten. The chicken, normal. If it is true that the waiter is very shy or reserved and says little, I don't think he is unfriendly.
Small and cozy. Without a doubt, when I return, we will repeat“

“Very welcoming place,
Excellent service.
Very well served food
On the balcony we can have a meal and enjoy the various lagoons and the wonderful landscape.
Finally, it is located in one of the most beautiful villages in the world. It is in the center of Monsaraz where there is plenty of parking around the village. Then take the opportunity to stroll around this beautiful village.“

“A tiny place, with a gentle giant behind the bar. Whizzing up a fresh batch as we walk in the door. “It’s the best” he says confidently. And it was excellent. Also the custardy/cinnamony flan with sugar syrup plums was to die for. I love these little places. Real personality. 5-stars in my book.“

“This is a place to eat traditional food from Alentejo, altough the lack of other options might make it difficult if you go there with kids.
The food is tasty and the fact it's served as buffet allows for tasting every food.
Parking: Parking is right by the side of the restaurant .
Kid-friendliness: Picky kids will have an hard time as there is no kids menu.“

“Everything was so good that I forgot to take photos of what we ordered. It was a gazpacho soup that was very tasty, asparagus crumbs with egg and sausage (the sausage came separately, which is great for those who don't eat meat like me), and some equally wonderful strips of pota, all accompanied by white wine. . Dessert was sericaia (different from the traditional one and I don't know which one I'm a bigger fan of).
We stayed on the outdoor terrace, one of those typical Alentejo nights (windless, hot and with a starry sky).
Equally good service and service.“

“100 square because there is no wall that squares with another, which is an appropriate name that could only come from Mr. Inácio's mind. The wife is the cook who is an ex-libris in elaborate dishes, for those who like snails they are wonderful.“

“Super welcoming restaurant. A room that allowed our group to be more peaceful and not disturb the other customers. Great food and generous portions. The divine vinegar jam! Super friendly service from Daniel and a chef's love. Whenever we pass by here it will be a place to stop.“
“Very welcoming staff, the starters are excellent, the main dishes are excellent, the lobster rice is extraordinary, and the lamb chops are recommended, the desserts are delicious, the lemon cake with ice cream is a good taste experience, at night the freshness and silence, with an orange liqueur, and your feet on the grass are a unique relaxing experience at sunset
Parking: Quite spacious“

“What I call homemade food. Without a doubt, all the ingredients come from there, from that land next to the Alqueva water. The flavor of Alentejo is present in everything. Another thing that is present is friendliness and simplicity.A big thank you and I will be back!“

“Foral MDXII in Monsaraz offers a dining experience that's hard to beat, especially with its breathtaking view of the old town on the hill. We started with olives and local cheese, both of which were amazing. For the main course, the Iberico pork cheek with wine sauce and potato crisps was super juicy and tender. The chunk of veal with crisps and coleslaw was equally impressive. The local red wines, both the light and strong varieties, were delicious and paired perfectly with our meal. We ended with a warm, amazing brownie that we shared. The staff were great and mostly very proficient in English, adding to the enjoyable experience (€60). Highly recommend Foral MDXII for a memorable meal in Monsaraz!“
