“Food well prepared and with good portions we were well attended to
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I was bitten by melgas (inevitable summer bad luck and because I thought the bread was weak) besides the best in the Algarve“

“My friend's parents had a good meal here in March and recommended the restaurant, which is in the second row not far from the promenade.
We had a great evening! The starter was mackerel. For the main course we had grilled tuna and spaghetti with prawns. I especially have to praise the tuna, which I've never had so good! The service was also very friendly and accommodating!
One of the best restaurants we visited in Tavira“

“Such a nice place with such delicious food! Went there twice again this holiday. It's unbelievable what delicious food comes out of that tiny kitchen, chapeau! And yes, it is a bit more expensive than “regular” Portuguese cuisine, but worth it. Service also exceptionally adequate and friendly, wine list top and the limoncello spritz as an aperitif also delicious. Recommended! Reservations are recommended, they are often completely full.“

“We stopped for a cold cerveja, the place having attracted us with the view of the bridge... We finally decided to come back for dinner and it was the best decision of the day. Just one word, a real treat both for the eyes and for our stomachs ??? We recommend ++++ Tavira, our little favorite at the start of our stay and a big thank you to the entire BORDA D'AGUA team.“

I didn't expect more seafood that just octopus ?!!! Shrimp and clams and I think scallops maybe. My wife had octopus pasta. We also had breaded octopus as a starter. Every ounce was delicious!!“

“This place was a surprise for us - we entered it after checking the reviews here on Google and it did not disappoint! The food that we ordered was very very good - we had a codfish toast and a charcuterie board with sweet potato, octopus salad and smoked tuna. You could feel in all of the ingredients, that the quality was nice. We also had a very good sangria made on sparkling wine. The service was also great - very very nice and helpful, yet not trying to overstep in any way. The prices might not be the cheapest, but it is quite a touristic area. Overally, we had a great experience!“

“Great food with the extra touch of brilliant presentation. We tried to get a table but the restaurant was fully booked, so we booked to come back another night. It was definitely worth it, the staff are also very nice. It is a place you must try when visiting.“

“Oh Mom, what a spectacular dinner.
Absolutely impeccable, from the fresh and strong mojito sangria to the delicious tuna and shrimp taco starters.
Main course, pork cheeks, a dish that every Portuguese person has eaten a number of times, but which they managed to reinvent, and the green apple puree, cider foam, how wonderful.
To finish, chocolate mousse with honeycomb, salt and olive oil (yes, olive oil and it's brutal) and another grilled and buttered pineapple, with vanilla ice cream and cardamom biscuits.
A new favorite in Tavira, definitely worth repeating.“

“New visit and there are several. Very simple family-run restaurant with terrace. Informal but efficient and friendly service. Rui in charge of the grill; For our taste, it tends to become overcooked over time, so sometimes the fish arrives at the table overcooked. Very good quality of all types of fish (turbo, sole, croaker, sea bass, sea bream, snapper). For starters, some splendid and fresh sardines and a portion of medium-sized but very delicious clams. For seconds, a wonderful 1.5kg snapper for two for €40 and a portion sea bass for €15 (on another visit we ordered a sea bass of about 2.5kg for three for €60, a bit overcooked, unfortunately). Unbeatable prices. They accompanied it with a platter of delicious homemade fries that they don't charge. Desserts only acceptable. To drink well-poured beers.
The only downside is that they don't accept reservations and it fills up quickly, mornings and nights, so you have to wait in line. Highly recommended.“

“We were invited by friends that have been going to Vincent Restaurant for many years. What an amazing little restaurant. Somehow Vincent cooks and runs front of house too. There was a great selection of food. Everything about the food we had was fantastic. I opted for the house wine which was lovely. Vincent was welcoming and very attentive. We will definitely be returning to explore the rest of the menu. Well done Vincent!“

“Servings in generous quantities, highlighting the clams, beef bitoque, Alentejo-style meat and Brás-style cod. We come back every year because of the friendliness of the owners, who make my son happy and accompany the dishes he chooses with the wonderful mushroom sauce! Recommended!“

“Incredible value for delicious food and super hospitable service. The cover of chorizo, cheese and bread is outstanding as is the steak and tiramisu. We actually didn’t have cash that evening but they were more than happy for us to return the next day to pay the bill. True local hospitality and incredibly rare. Highly recommend getting the cover of bread, cheese and chorizo. Delicious!“

“Amazing tapas, all thoughtfully created, each with a fitting twist, like the eggplants with yogurt dip, courgette with goat cheese cream, pork filet with fig sauce or the tataki-style tuna. Didn't have a chance to try the full dishes as we had to order nearly everything from the tapas side of the menu. Definitely need to come back for some dishes, too.“

“What to say .....
A very nice experience on a street corner which, at first glance, does not suggest such a surprise.
The manager did everything to put us at ease and make ourselves understood (which is not always easy when you don't speak Portuguese)
Hearty dishes and a 100% Portuguese atmosphere.
A restaurant that is essential to discover if you are looking for authenticity!!!!!
As for the price, it beats all competition
Go there with your eyes closed, you will not be disappointed.“

“This is undoubtedly one of the best stocked bakeries in Tavira. There was a young man here that is very friendly and understands English very well. He was also very helpful in choosing new pastries. They have Oat milk! And wifi, that reaches outside. During our visit there was construction so not a great time for outdoor seating but nevertheless, it’s nice to have that option. There were such a nice selection of pastries and savory croquettes. Many almond selections. It’s a nice location tucked away from busy square between a nice fitness gym and popular hotel ! Enjoy“

“My family and I chose this restaurant for its offering of the true flavors of Portuguese cuisine and we really weren't disappointed until dessert time.
The dessert chosen by my husband and I was a lemon meringue tart...existing lemon, meringue from poorly cooked egg whites that left us with a gastrointestinal problem for 3 days.
We notified the restaurant and were told it was impossible as they had not received any other complaints.
Very disappointed ...
It's a real shame because a lot of their menu is very good.“

“Brits on our first holiday to Portugal, we’re so happy we found this place. We came back every day as the food and drink was out of this world. And the hospitality was magic, we were invited to the karaoke and brought the family which got addicting! And lovely cocktails to enjoy. The owners speak fluent English and recommended things to do making lots of memories. Thoroughly enjoyed and can’t wait to come back!“

“A restaurant that bears its name well...a little hidden!

“Very good cataplana, we ordered the monkfish and seafood one, there were 2 of us, we had plenty left over and it was spectacular, we couldn't resist trying the fig pudding either. Highly recommended for quality, price and the treatment of the waiter and the cook who came to ask. It is not the typical tourist place, a local restaurant with traditional Portuguese food where what mattered was the food, not the decoration.“

“Portuguese restaurant with high standards and an eye for detail! Tastefully decorated and even the toilet here is great! Service is very good and the food is absolutely great! It's just a shame that there are cars in front of the terrace, which makes it a bit less pleasant. Must visit!“

“In one word: fabulous!
After staying 10 days in Tavira, this is undoubtedly my favorite restaurant! We went back twice during our stay ?
Very warm welcome, tasty and traditional dishes, green surroundings in the pretty garden located at the back of the restaurant.
I recommend the mixed salad with figs as well as the hamburger (without bread).
You can go there with your eyes closed ?
However, be careful to withdraw beforehand because credit card is not accepted!“

The staff are very attentive and friendly.

You can go there, it's family friendly!

“We got carried away by the reviews and we were right.
Located in the center, next to the central market.
Very friendly, they helped us with everything, between Spanish and Portuguese we understood each other perfectly hahaha
Spectacular food, everything we ordered.
You have to order the special XIC francesinha even if it's just out of curiosity, but it is a filling dish for just one person.
We also ordered sea bass cataplanas, delicious and at a price that I have not seen in other restaurants in Portugal.
The lamb was also very good.
The half-liter jugs of white wine at €4, unbeatable. And well.
That said, the treatment was fantastic. The boss was there the entire time in case we needed anything.
A place we are looking forward to returning to.“

“Super restaurant! On y a mangé pour notre dernière soirée à Olhão. Tout était parfait, l’attente juste un peu trop longue, mais un groupe de 5 personnes avait commandé avant nous. La nourriture est très bonne et j’ai trouvé cela plus travaillé que dans les autres restaurants de poisson de la ville. Le service est agréable. Je recommande ce restaurant!“

“January 23, 2024: For seven years we have been visiting Casa da Barreira on our trips to Sao Bras to enjoy a hot drink and a piece of cake. The standard hot drinks are a Bica cheia and a Meia de leite - you probably won't get better in the Algarve. The cakes today were a bolo de amêndoa with a fabulously airy dough under a dense layer of wonderfully sweet and sticky almond slivers and a bolo de abóbora (pumpkin cake) - recommended!“
“This restaurant is really worth the detour, the ocean opposite the owners, a brother, a sister, both great servers also the kitchen very good attention. Be aware that in this restaurant you have some of the fish that come from the fishponds but they have a display of quality fresh fish caught at sea which is necessarily a little more expensive, but of very good quality, and there this restaurant will not let you make no mistake in the quality of the products I highly recommend this restaurant“

“You arrive in Moncarapacho, a small village in the Algarve famous for the production of terracotta objects. And in the middle of the week go to this characteristic restaurant for lunch. Beautiful and functional location, generous dishes, excellent carapau (mackerel fillets), gazpacho as good as the sopa de legumes. It is really worth a trip to visit the village and make a stop in O Antonio.“
