Incredible experience from start to finish. The service staff were very accommodating - we had traveled that day through the sights of Sintra, and they happily held our bags for us. The experience started with a tapas tour of Portugal’s regional cuisine, and was followed by a choice of 3 tasting menus in the dining room. We opted for the Inside the Mountains menu with 4 courses and wine pairings. It also included a palate cleanser course beforehand, and a sweet treat platter at the end. It’s an expensive meal, but you get more than you’ll pay for in quality, quantity, and service.

Overall a pretty good and unique dining experience with great dishes. A few things however took away from quality of the whole thing. As we entered the restaurant we were not greeted by any hostess at first and when we did they kept asking us which restaurant we are going to (as if people arrive to this secluded restaurant by accident?). Very messy and disorganized beginning but okay. We were also not offered any welcome drink while waiting for the experience to start and had to wait in a very cheap looking waiting area. Next, the restaurant is located inside a big resort which kind of makes the location feel cheap (on the way to the bathroom you pass through a hotel/souvenir shop). Towards the end of the dinner we requested to move to a nicer table that was located closer to the window. The waiter (which was overall very nice) said that they usually don’t do that but he could make an “exception”. We found his comment to be pointless and strange because why would such a simple request which is very common all over the world need to be an “exception”? To conclude, This place has potential but could definitely improve on the service front.

The whole evening was perfect from start to finish. The waiters are more than competent and friendly. The food was excellent. The two of us each chose one of the three menus, so we were able to try everything. If you have an occasion to celebrate, this is definitely the perfect place to have a really good time. The entire evening is an experience that is almost unforgettable. From the presentation to the preparation, everything is just perfect. We couldn't help but be amazed.

One of the best meals I ever had. We were at the Chef's table which is situated in front of the kitchen as guests arrive. Some of the highlights that I can remember: the spinach/shrimp salad, the chicken wings (!), beef carpaccio, french fries, lobster risotto, and the apple tart. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.
The food, service, and ambience at Michelin Star LAB restaurant were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend LAB restaurant.

If you are into show, storytelling and stunning location: This is your place.If you are into amazing food and a regular Michelin-star visitor, this is definitely not your place (go to Midori at the same property instead).First of all: The staff is very friendly and does everything they are trained for. Very welcoming, warm and open.Second of all: if you have never been in a true fine dining restaurant, it’s a good experience - starting with a a trip across typical tapas in Portugal freshly prepared for you, before going into the dining area. And also the menu has a lot of good stories around it (also see the pictures).However:First, I am a true foodie and the quality and/or composition of dishes did not meet what I am used to for restaurants with a Michelin-star (e.g., burned parts of a dessert).Second, while the staff told great stories, they couldn’t talk about ingredients beyond the obvious (e.g., we asked for the kind of caviar and we didn’t get beyond ‘sturgeon’) and didn’t have the training to be successful (e.g., keeping single piece of bread on the table till dessert without offering a refill; never asking whether we are ready for the next dish but rather serving everything without a break; being completely overwhelmed when we said that a dish wasn’t well-balanced).Third, while the wine list is very nice, the prices are high - they have a margin of 4-5x, which is not acceptable (for me as an absolute wine lover).So, all in all: nice for tourists, but value for money is not there.
