“Geweldige plek ❤️! Kwamen hier toevallig terecht omdat we om de hoek sliepen en zijn gelijk de volgende dag terugkomen. Zelfs op maandag weer voor de deur gestaan maar toen waren ze helaas gesloten. Lievelingstentje in Lagos! Geweldig eten, sfeer, personeel, lekkere sapjes en iedereen is zo lief! Ga hierheeeeeeeeeen!!!!!!!!!!“

“Ran in here once on my way home from work because you can see the amount of Pastéis de Nata in the window, so you assume that it’s good if they make that many.
This was the best Pastel de Nata i’ve ever had, i need to go back here on a coffee date soon.“

“Had a great lunch as a family of four here! Our young one (3 1/2 years) was hangry and crying and the owner came out to cheer him up and saved the situation. Food was delicious, freshly made juices and coffee as well. I would love to come back to try their sweet pancakes but we travel home tomorrow…“

“The service gets 3 extra stars!!!
We felt very welcome there.
We had iced coffee, a smoothie, a yogurt bowl and a bowl with spinach, avocado, chicken...
There are also some vegan options.
Unfortunately I was full, otherwise I would have ordered pancakes. They looked really tasty.“

“Incredible!!
At first it may not attract much attention as it is a small and somewhat hidden place, but without a doubt the best breakfast in Lagos at a very good price. We ordered two croissants and repeated a third because they were so delicious! Obrigado!!“

“Best breakfast spot in Lagos for those who wish to really immerse themselves in the local culture of Portugal and break fast like the locals do. They have a wide selection of toasties, croissants and pastels which will make your mouth water, my personal recommendation would be the croissant with eggs sauce which was incredible. The place is also squeaky clean, and the staff are super lovely and welcoming, they make you feel right at home. We came here every morning we spent in Lagos (apart from one and only because it was closed) would definitely recommend it. Will be missed once back in the Uk.“
“What a delightful find. It might not have the views (or the prices) of the coffee places on the beach however the coffee here was absolutely delicious as was the freshly squeezed orange juice. Both became a daily routine. The owner, who's name I do not know, was absolutely charming. We loved this place and where else can you find 2 cafe con leite (coffees with milk), a freshly squeezed orange juice, and a croissant for just over 5 euro! Great place.“

“Excellent food. One of the more low key places on the strip, but one of the best. Easy to overlook but trust me you won't be disappointed. One of the best burgers I have ever had. My daughter had the Caprese salad, and just wow. Every thing is home made, the beef patty, pesto for salad etc.. so yeah don't judge a book by its cover, on the surface just a little care but far from humble food ..“

“The cafe did not appear as good as when we went last March. There was only a small selection of cakes/ pastry. The duplo coffee was still as good but we could not find the pastry we would have liked. It was dark and rather warm in the cafe. Staff were pleasant.“

“They have a few salads and fries that I could eat with a gluten allergy. They made sure the fries were not fried in the same oil, staff was friendly, food tasty. Allergens listed inside the restaurant.
Dietary restrictions: Allergens listed inside. As a gluten intolerant person, I had around 3-4 options to choose from. Remember to inform staff, though.“

“We really love this place! It’s a great cafe on the beach with ample seating and a beautiful view. The menu has lots of great options. We had the bruschetta and a jug of green wine - both were delicious. Looking forward to trying more items next time. The staff and service were great - friendly, attentive and relaxed vibe.“
“Just a really great place. The owner or family is simply great. Friendly, authentic and cosmopolitan at heart. The food is great, the location suits this place perfectly and the prices are simply top.Overall, totally recommended
Vegetarian options: Several different vegetarian dishes in addition to the classic salads
Kid-friendliness: There was pen and paper for our children. Outside, the neighbor's child made big bubbles for our children.“

“The staff is great and the owner is very nice. The food and the drinks are just lovely. In my table we had the lemon cheesecake, cheesy scones, liqueur coffee with Jameson (delicious), two spicy mango margaritas (amazing), boozy affogato (lively), red wine (smooth) and everything was great! The place is small but cozy and cute, the terrace is right on a narrow beautiful typical portuguese street in the old town. It's the only openly lgbtqi+ friendly place in Lagos that i know., not that makes much of a difference since i have seen of sort of people stoping by to drink and eat. Well done!“

“Really nice and quiet place. Located in a small square in front of the Marine. I have found exactly what I was looking for which is simple food for breakfast for very fair prices especially when you compare it to cafes nearby. Much much better than having breakfast in the hotel and the price is lower.“

“The owners of this place truly are passionate about what they do. Their English is perfect. The menu is perfect and has something for everybody. If you have dietary restrictions of any shape or form, they have something for you. I can also confirm that Elvis is indeed alive, because that’s the name of the gentleman who owns this restaurant and he is as cool as the breeze. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. It is legit that good! This was the perfect way to end a one month tour of Spain and Portugal.“
“For us it was a.great birthday date night! The food was excellent, the service superb. Also I mentioned at booking that it is my boyfriends birthday....they gave a very nice table. But at the end ....a.big suprise...all the staff came to sing "Parabéns" and they had a piece of cake with candle for him. We had the best time. And with the Fork we were able to afford it. We had different starters and then the seafood rice. Wow! So so good. Obrigada:-) Bruno & Tina“

“Absolutely delicious (cash only!) We read reviews so we did the 20 min walk. Arrived and ordered but didn’t have cash. Oops! So we walked 10 min to an ATM. Returned and our meal was hot and ready waiting for us! My husband has been holding on to a childhood memory of a steak sandwich from Portugal. He absolutely loved the bifana (turns out it is pork, not beef) with onions. It fulfilled his craving!! I had a really tasty ham and cheese tosta. And only €2.40. Great value. Sweet staff. Delicious food. Locals cafe, not a restaurant atmosphere (at least during the day). Great for food. Not a hangout bar.“

“The establishment is very well located, close to "Continente", the Municipal Library and the Portimao Sports Pavilion. I was there today to have a snack and I was very satisfied with the quality of the products ordered. The mixed toasts on homemade bread were delicious, well filled with cheese and ham, and the tea was served in an individual teapot, in good quantity and tasty. The friendliness of the staff should be highlighted.I'll go back.Published on 30nov23“

“An unforgettable evening! We were worried that we might not like this wistful music. But that wasn't the case, we were just blown away. The two musicians and the two singers were simply fantastic and were able to easily fill the room without any annoying amplifiers or microphones.
For €25 we also got soup, bread, olives and a small plate of octopus salad or a kind of goulash. Other drinks were extra.
The staff was super friendly and very attentive. We will live on these memories for a long time, thank you Café Vádio!“
“I love this place. It's off the main strip about 2 minutes back. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Great price. Amazing caprese salad. Great bread. Really good coffee (which is not the norm around here in my experience). friendly service. Very reasonable prices.“
“A cafe/restaurant that stands out and stands out in relation to several similar spaces in the Algarve, for the quality of service, therefore always attentive, with attention to the customer and in the treatment. It's not everything you ask for but it has weight in the business and without a doubt the food served is also very good, so in this case an easy 5 stars.“

“What you'd expect from a snack bar, but it was nice that the owner made a double loaded tosta mista at my request. Don't go asking for one of these, because I told him up front that I expected to pay more, but it was nice that he did it.“
“The best little bar in Lagos, outside the chaos of the center full of tourists. A calm and peaceful place. A true corner of Portugal. Here you can fully breathe the true air of this city. Ideal for a relaxing break. The owners are great people, full of helpful advice on what to do in Lagos. If you don't know what to drink, ask the owners for advice. This place reminded us how welcoming and true Portugal is, even in the midst of the touristy Algarve.Absolutely recommended.“

“On our last morning in Lisbon we stopped for a pastry and coffee before leaving for Porto on the train. This was in our neighborhood, a few blocks from our hotel. We bought egg sandwiches that we ate on the sidewalk seating outside the restaurant. The bustle of people with places to go and things to do was a different vibe than we had experienced during the rest of our visit. The food was OK ... not fancy, but also not too expensive.“

“A little Portuguese house with Algarve sweets recovered from old recipes by D. Isabel over the years. The reception is warm and experienced. They are all great but I recommend the Alvor bowl, which is a delicate sweet with egg jam, cinnamon, lemon and a crunchy dough all around that gives it a texture. Great cold tea from Lúcia Lima and lemonade to go with it.“

“We visited Snack bar Silvas when staying in Portimäo as we were looking for somewhere cheap & cheerful to eat without breaking the bank. Liked the look of Silvas and the owner (we think!) was nice and welcoming. Ordered a couple of petiscos - chicken gizzards and pork cheeks. Also ordered 2 mains which were pork dishes, one of which was carne à portuguesa. Bread was given to us & we realised later it was at an extra charge. We also got some beers. The food took awhile to come as it was literally a one man show with the same person serving and cooking. We enjoyed all the dishes & the petiscos were interesting. There was quite alot of garlic with the gizzards & pork cheeks which was nice. It was also good to dip the bread in the gravy served with the gizzards. The Portuguese meat dish tasted of paprika & was served with pickled cauliflower which gave it an interesting kick. The pork steak was cooked well and both the mains were served with chips. The mains were 7.50€ each & with the petiscos, beer & bread, everything came up to less than 25€ which was great value for tasty, freshly cooked food. We liked it so much we returned the next day. Sadly the codfish & octopus salads weren't available so we ordered the pork testicles with scrambled eggs as well as pica pau. For mains, they didn't have one of the dishes we wanted to order so gave us a grilled fish & a beef steak. Again, it was a bit of a wait for the food but they were cooked fresh. The testicles had a chewy texture - like a cross between gizzards & pork. They went with the eggs. Pica-pau was similar to a main we had the day before & was served with pickled gherkins & cauliflower. The steak was served with chips and the fish with boiled potatoes & a salad on the side. Once again, the food was good with the only disappointment being a small bit of the fish which wasn't completely cooked. The mains were 8€ each & the bill came up to a little over 25€. Other than the glitch with the fish, we really enjoyed the food we had at Silvas & the unassuming vibe of the place as well as the kind & welcoming service. It's definitely recommended when in Portimão!!“
