Awful experience from start to finish. Too many staff that were not managed and caused a chaotic service, trying to look busy but achieving nothing! We were attended by 5 different waiting staff but after half an hour still did not have a drink or menu order taken . Took 3 requests to even get salt to the table …. 5/6 main meal items not available on a somewhat already limited menu. How one can choose wine from an IPad with only a name and price is simply stupid!! However a saving grace was we did eventually get a more responsible waiter who brought some bottles to the table for us to choose from. Such a ridiculous idea to have high technology in this environment that does not work effectively for customers. Many of the waiting staff took time at the table talking into microphones making it a less than personal service ! Having enjoyed meals with neighbouring restaurants don’t waste time here…. Go along the road a bit

Very disappointing. Too many staff that were not managed hence chaotic. Going from table to table to bar and up and down 5e stairs but not seemingly achieving anything other than keeping away from attending to tables……. We had to ask 3 times for salt before reminded and it eventually arrived! We were attended by 5 people but within half an hour still had not placed an order nor received drinks. Each staff member passed to another and using I pad devices or microphones to talk to one another but got nowhere!, As for the wine menu on an iPad with just names and prices, no description or picture it was simply ridiculous. This was our first night in the Douro Valley and we wanted to know about the wines we had hoped to try. The food menu which was not terrible long to start but had at least 5/6 dishes not available so very limited choice. This is so so poor for such a restaurant. Having explored other restaurants along the same road since, there are many better places to enjoy a nice meal!

Service seemed confused. Several different staff offered water and bread but no one offered drinks. Took 30+ minutes to get drinks. There was a storm and wine list required internet so manager gave us tastes of wine and made recommendations. Great service. Food was excellent. Manager went above and beyond in the face of several issues with the oven , waitstaff and disgruntled customers. He saved what could have been an underwhelming experience and made it terrific!

Excellent dinner of steak and local Portuguese fare. Wine selection is excellent and the service is superb. Located in a beautiful old building that has been meticulously restored.

Deuxième année consécutive que nous revenons à ce magnifique restaurant situé en face de la gare ferroviaire do Peso da Régua. Évidemment nous n'avons pas été déçus. Le personnel est aux petits soins, rapide efficace et à l'écoute du client. Les plats sont très soignés. Nous avons été juste surpris de constater que la carte était la même qu'en 2022. Mais soyez sûr qu'en 2024 nous reviendrons ❤️

Nothing special about this place. Food is average. Overpriced for the quality and taste of the food. Staff is not understanding English well enough to accept correct orders unless you point your finger at the menu item, which you want to order. Speed of service is very slow.
